Surfing Dogs
We recently received the above photos from one of our customers, Bob C. Amazed and delighted at the sight of surfing dogs, we asked Bob to give us the scoop on these talented canines. Here is what Bob shared with us:
"Here is the dog surfing short story. We are a group/tribe of 20 or so surfers who have trained our rescue dogs to surf. We are spread along Florida's east coast from Cocoa Beach south to Palm Beach. The dog surfing contests are fund raisers for the local Humane Societies that include the surf contest, dog surfing short lessons, vendors, and entertainment. The events draw crowds of folks that enjoy the experience and contribute generously for canine rescue and rehoming. The picture of Minx and Waldo is from the Easter Surf Contest in Cocoa Beach, FL with the dog surf half day of the event benefiting the Humane Society of Brevard County FL. Bob also shared that this year's dog surfing events were cancelled due to the pandemic. The Humane Society of Brevard County was deeply impacted, as their dog surfing fundraiser was among the cancelled. If you would like to make a donation, you can contact them here:
