This board bag works as a great day bag with its adjustable shoulder strap and front/back handles. It also makes a great travel bag because it comes with REMOVABLE WHEELS for when you're transporting your boards farther or hauling more weight! Its durable nylon and reflective silver bag materials means that this board bag is strong enough to hold your board while protecting them from harsh outdoor elements.
This bag features zipped entry and an adjustable center to make sure the bag has a snug fit around your boards. The adjustable center means each bag can fit a range of board lengths-- just pick the size that works best for you:
Perfect travel bag for my longboard. Going to Mexico in 3 weeks. The wheels will be of great help to go through custom! Amazing quality and light weight. I LOVE it. Thank You for this design!
This is not really an Epic Gear Board Bag review so much as it is a Store Your Board review. I ordered the Epic Bag based on wording in the description that suggested it can hold 2 boards. It cannot. It is a single-board bag. When Store Your Board read the ad they AGREED that it was misleading, they immediately changed the website ad, they paid for return shipping, and when I asked for an exchange for a 2-board bag that I selected, they shipped it to me AT NO EXTRA COST!! The bag I selected was significantly more! These guys (and gals) are AWESOME and really want to build their business. I will find a way to support them in the future.
I bought this bag because I'm trying to sneak a 7'10" board onto a smaller plane that has a 7'2" length maximum. I wanted something that I could adjust to the exact board length. The adjustable part is actually in 6" increments. The fact that I have to use 8' instead of an exact 7'10" length isn't a big deal, but you should be aware of that.
The one thing I don't like about the bag is that there's an opening for a center fin to stick out of that doesn't have anything to close it...really dumb as I can't imagine anyone leaving the fins on while traveling and everyone packs lots of other stuff that you don't want to fall out. Obviously I will tape it closed so it's not a deal killer, but still, a silly design flaw.
Everything else about the bag is good. I like the removable wheels.
Looks nothing like the picture. Wheels are different. The 2 adjustable straps are not there, just velcro.
Two years ago I bought my first Epic Gear adjustable board bag. I love it. I just bought another one, and it is on the way to the Philippines as I write this review.
I bought the second bag to replace my Big three board coffin bag. Which is just a bit too unwieldy for day tripping.
But I also like the service from the people at Store Your Board. As I had made a special request of them before making my purchase. They came through with flying colors.
I really like the Epic adjustable board bag. I use mine in the Philippines travlling around to surf different spots.
In fact I like it so much I am going to buy a second one to replace the Dakine 3 board bad I have been using for one of my boards.
The Epic bag is more versatile and easier to manage as a day travel bag.
I highly recommend them, whatever size board you have.
