Product Description

Live at the beach or staying at the beach with a bike? You need a Surfboard Rack for your Bike. Yeah you can put it under your arm and get it down to the beach but why not get a rack meant to carry you surfboard safely and securely down to the beach. Also if you have a bit further distance that a block or two a surfboard rack is an absolute must.

This model is made by Carver, known for its high quality bike racks. The mini version works with surfboards up to 8ft. If you have a longboard you need a Carver MAX.

Q:
I have an 8'0" pretty lean mini long board. That is, it has a pretty pulled tail and, a fairly pulled nose as well. Not a nose rider by any means. Do you think the mini would be ok with this type of 8'0"?
A:
Looking at the specs for the Carver Mini, it looks like the Carver Max longboard bike rack would be recommended for any 8 foot board (8 to 10 feet). Alternately, there is our Removable Surfboard Bike Rack, that will hold a board up to about 9 feet long, so would also work for an 8 foot board. Either should work for your board.
The main differences are:

1) Our longboard rack mounts to the rear of your bike only, and does not have a quick release function but it works for cruisers and non-suspension bikes.

2) The removable rack has a quick release, so you can remove it quickly, and it can be mounted to either the front of the bike (to the headtube) or in the rear to a seatpost or a rear rack (however for longboards on this removable one, you normally would want to mount it to the rear rack).
