Product Description

Need to get that bike out of the way? Why not store it on the ceiling? This bike hoist has a unique design that lightens the load while lifting the bike to the ceiling. There is also a rope locking mechanism to prevent accidental release.

This bike rack is an excellent way to utilize unused space and safely and securely store your bike. Not only will it hold bikes but it is good for many other items that you might want to store overhead but have easy access by lowering the rope. The rack system can hold up to 50lbs of bike or gear.

This easy-to-use garage bike hoist uses two pulleys mounted to the ceiling to smoothly raise and lower your bike without having to get a ladder. This bike lift will lift your bike up to 12ft. The pulleys also give you a mechanical advantage of 4:1 so it will be easy to hoist even your heaviest bike to the ceiling. The locking mechanism makes sure it stays securely anchored while you are not using it.

  • (2) Lift assemblies
  • (2) Hook pulleys (1 with locking mechanism)
  • (1) 48-foot rope
  • (1) Installation instructions
  • (1) Rope cleat
  • (10) 2" wood screws
  • Supports up to 50 lbs
  • Can lift bike up 12 ft

Easy to install and lifted my fat tire bike overhead with no problem. I ordered two more for the wife and daughter's bikes. Now I guess I'll have to clean up and organize the rest of the garage.

My only complaint is that I didn't think of these clever devices! They are exactly as advertised and super easy to install. They have created tons of room in our garage by getting the family's bikes up out of the way. They make it really easy to raise and lower the bikes for quick access.

Just installed, wasn't bad at all. I used longer wood screws than the ones that came with it like others have said. Very satisfied with the result.

I now have 2 of these installed in our garage. We have a grage with pretty high ceilings so we put these up in one of the corners and it is super easy to hoist our bikes up when we are not using them. In the winter it is great, they are out of the way and I don't even notice them. In the summer, sometimes I don't always hoist it back up everyday but I always have the option. To install this rack it was pretty easy I just needed a tall ladder, luckily we have one.

Excellent Pulley System for Bikes

This is a great pulley system to get stuff off the ground in your garage. I bought one of these about eight years ago and another a week ago for a second bike. The first one is still perfect. It needs to be installed into ceiling joists and I use a longer hex head screw than the ones provided. My only complaint is that they changed the cord to a more elastic nylon line. I liked the older static line better. This things can hold a lot of weight and the hooks can be rearranged to grab from different angles.

Q:
How high to the ceiling can the bike be hoisted? I have a golf cart parked underneath where I want to hoist the bikes.

A:
You can hoist your bike with this ceiling rack up to 12 feet high, but it will depend on how high your garage's ceiling is, whether this will work for your space and the golf cart.

Q:
Will this work on a slanted ceiling?

A:
This ceiling bike hoist would not be recommended for use on a slanted ceiling

Q:
I have a small I beam in my garage that I want to secure it to, can I do that?

A:
Our bike hoist should be fine mounted into your beam, just otherwise follow the installation instructions that are included. You can also check out the installation instructions ahead of time, to get a better idea, as we have them posted with this listing. They are located under Product Description.

Q:
Can you store anything up to 50 lbs on this? What would you suggest for storage of two SUP boards with this same type of system?

A:
This bike rack would not be recommended for a SUP, even if the weight was in its load range, it won't grip or secure it properly and could damage the board. You would need something like one of these SUP/surfboard hoists which will properly hold and hoist a SUP. Those support up to 120 pounds.

Q:
It appears that the cleat is mounted near the ceiling. Can it be mounted down lower without interfering with the bike?

A:
The rope cleat on our Bike Hoist holds excess rope when the bike is hoisted up to the ceiling. It can be attached on the wall anywhere conveniently located for use with the hoisting system - it will need to hold the excess rope though, so the rope just needs to reach it. There are these installation instructions available for the hoist, which may give you a better idea of how this system is set up and works.

Q:
Does it come fully assembled?

A:
Our 2 bike hitch requires some assembly upon receipt. You can find the instruction manual here for reference.

Q:
Will the hooks also fit under the front and back rims instead of seat and handle bar?

A:
Thisbike ceiling hoistis specifically designed for the hooks to attach to the bike seat and handlebars. The hooks that attach to the pulley mechanism actually face inward, in order attach to the seat & the handlebars, and so aren't at the correct angle to attach to tire rims, and you can't face them the other direction for the pulley to be set up properly and work.
