Product Description

The Double Roof Rack System by Ocean and Earth is a great all-in-one surfboard roof rack that is designed to be used on cars that do not have an existing roof rack. This rack system comes with a set of 4 pads and straps to secure 1-6 shortboards, or 2 longboards and 2 shortboards to your vehicle's roof. This should have everything you need to take your surfboards with you to your next surf destination!

The pads in this roof rack system offer the perfect rooftop protection because they were made extra high in order to keep handles and zips clear of the roof. This roof rack also features rust-proof metal buckles which are encased in padded neoprene to protect both your boards and your car from scratches and dings. Plus, the top panels of the pads are made of easy-to-clean PVC to help minimize wax-build up from your boards.

These straps and pads are super easy to install on your car roof - just loop the straps up and around your boards and under the roof, then lock the straps into the buckles. Because the buckles are rust-proof and the straps are made of a strong UV-treated and tested webbing, you can leave the rack system on your car roof and be confidenct that they'll survive long days in the sun. Or, when you don't need them, simply unlock the straps and stow it away in the reusable carry bag (included).

This rack system is a great choice if you want superior quality protection for your boards while transporting them to and from your surfing destination. Plus, because it's made by Ocean and Earth (a brand known for high-quality surf equipment), you can trust that you'll get superior performance from this gear.

Q:
How fast are you able to go on the freeway with having the surfboards on?
A:
You can use this removable, universal transportation rack at reasonable speeds, making certain you have secured your boards and the rack system properly first.
Q:
Will this fit fine with an Nissan Altima?
A:
You need to have 4 doors for this removable surfboard roof rack to work, as the straps go through the doors to secure underneath the roof inside of the car. That is really the only basic criteria for this to work with your car, so if it has four doors it should be fine.
Q:
How fast is reasonable speed on an interstate hiway with this rack system, 60, 70 mph? Rack will be reinforced by extra straps.
A:
Securing your boards with extra straps is a good precaution, especially if you are traveling a long distance - however, how fast is reasonable is going to vary by your car, the road conditions, the weather, other drivers on the road -- all those usual factors encountered on the highway. There really isn't a manufacturer's specification on use as far as reasonable or maximum speed, so one needs to use common sense for each trip: making sure the boards are properly secured at the start, and driving according to the speed limits of that roadway taking the conditions etc. into play to be safe.
Q:
Can this rack be used for snowboards and or skis??
A:
I would recommend this multi-purpose roof rack for skis and snowboards, over this surfboard rack. The multi-purpose rack has more loops/straps for holding multiple snowboards and skis, without stacking them all, for one main difference; it can hold up to 6 skis or 6 snowboards, or a combination. It also would work for surfboards, so is versatile. This surfboard rack just has one set of straps on each pad - though they are long enough you can stack boards with them. They are similar otherwise, but the multi-purpose one is just a better option if you need to transport snowboards and skis.
