Product Description

This is an easy-to-use roof rack and strap system for cars and SUVs that don't have built-in roof racks on their vehicle. Designed for use on 4-door cars or SUVs, the Easy Strap Surfboard Rack is the perfect solution for shortboard or longboard transport without needing to buy an entire roof rack for your car or SUV.

Every rack is sold as a pair and comes with a high-tech cam buckle to ensure your boards are safe while driving at interstate speeds. Additionally, each rack has a non-slip and non-abrasive rubber bottom that prevents any unwanted slipping or movement of your boards. These rack pads are super soft and work great for shortboards, fish, and longboards.

To use this rack, you simply position the pads on your roof, pull the straps through the inside of your car, secure the straps with the cam buckle, slip it over the board/s, then tighten up and off you go!

Q:
I have a 2016 Honda Civic LX-P Coupe. 2 door. Will this rack work?

A:
Our Easy Straps removable surfboard rack, for vehicles without an existing roof rack/crossbars, will notwork for a 2 door vehicle/coupe. The straps must run through 4 vehicle doors, where they secure inside your vehicle under the roof.

Q:
I have a new GLC 300 Mercedes and am interested in a temp rack to carry my paddle board. What can you recommend?

A:
It looks like your model Mercedes has 4 doorways, so most of the removable strap systems would work for it - that is the basic requirement for a removable roof rack like this one, that you have 4 doorways to run the straps through. But this particulareasy strap board rackis actually meant for surfboards; since Paddleboards are normally bigger and shaped differently then surfboards, you would want to look at one of the removable systems that has straps meant to secure your SUP, such as thisSUP roof rack(which works for cars with or without roof racks), or thisremovable SUP rack. It doesn't look like you have a rear antenna or anything like that on your Mercedes, so you shouldn't have a problem with that getting in the way. There is no actual manufacturer's fit guide to guarantee these removable racks will work for specific autos, basically because they work for most 4 door vehicles, so you should be fine with one of the SUP versions.

Q:
I own a 2015 Chevy Spark and my Wife owns a 2014 VW golf, will this rack fit both our cars???

A:
This Easy Strap Surfboard Car Rack works for 4 door vehicles, so should work for both you and your wife's cars; the only thing I notice is that it looks like the Spark might have an antenna in front - so you might have to adjust how you place the board on that car to clear the antenna. There are some other options in removable systems that would should work for both cars as well, shown here.

Q:
Want to use the rack for paddle board. Has anyone used this on a jeep soft top roof?

A:
For starters, this removable transportation rack is *not* recommended for paddle boards - it is built to hold surfboards. The shape of a paddleboard is different enough (and usually much larger than many surfboards) so that it won't fit them. You can find some removable rack systems with our collection of car racks for SUPs, here:

As to using a removable transportation rack with your soft top Jeep: this is a question-mark. I have not heard feedback from customers that have tried it; the Jeep would need to have 4 doorways to use a removable rack, since they run through the vehicle's doorways and need 4... but I have some concerns on how well they work with soft-tops. There could be a few issues, so I would be hesitant to recommend it.
