Product Description

If you're in need of the biggest, baddest kayak trailer on the market for your fishing kayak, you've found it! This Fishing Kayak Trailer is designed to carry the largest, heaviest fishing kayaks out there: Hobie, Old Town, Ocean Kayak, Native Watercraft, Wilderness Systems, Jackson Kayak, you name it. It can hold up to 300 pounds, and because it's a sit on top trailer design, there's no parts or pieces that limit the kayak width that this trailer can handle.  This Fishing Kayak cart is built to handle large fishing kayaks for a reason - they're heavy and they're difficult to transport. Let this Kayak Trailer bear the burden of getting your fishing kayak to the water for you, and save your energy for reeling in the big one.

The key features of this Fishing Kayak Trailer are its wide steel frame and oversized airless tires. The foundation of this cart is a large rectangular frame made from steel tubing. This solid foundation provides rigidity and a structural basis for the other components to attach to. The oversized bike tires give this kayak cart superior rolling capabilities. All the difficult surfaces that other wheels can't handle - sand, dirt, gravel, and even curbs - can be easily navigated with the large tires on this trailer.

The Fishing Kayak Trailer takes the majority of your boat's weight and puts it on the cart. It's a center mount cart which means that it will sit underneath the middle of your kayak and absorb nearly all of your boat's weight. This cart includes tie down straps that allow you to tightly secure your fishing kayak to the cart so you can confidently travel over rough terrain without fear coming loose and falling off the cart.

Two adjustable durable, non-marring rubber pads are what your boat sits on. These pads help prevent slipping and won't mark or damage your boat's hull. There are 3 width settings to accommodate different boat hull shapes. The entire cart can be quickly and easily disassembled for storage and transport. Included with the cart is a heavy duty mesh bag with shoulder strap that allows you to tote around your folded cart.

This cart worked really well if not used around saltwater. We really like how it works. At the first time of getting saltwater dripping from the SUP it started to rust. 3 months later I took it apart and did a rust treatment and re-painted. Great product, poor saltwater rust issue.

Q:
I have a kayak that is catamaran style. The bottom of each part is about 36" wide. Would this work?
A:
OurHeavy Duty Kayak Cartcan support a large/heavy load, up to 300 lbs, and it can support a variety of large fishing, etc., kayaks. However, how well a catamaran style kayak would work on it is a question-mark. We couldn't guarantee it would work due to the shape of a catamaran - it may be difficult to position that properly and well-balanced on the cart.
Q:
Where do you attach the 2nd set of wheels
A:
This Heavy Duty Kayak Cart only includes one set of wheels. They are 16" airless tires, meaning they do not need to be refilled, and don't get flats. For this cart, the kayak will sit on top of the two-wheeled cart, which can support very wide and heavy kayaks - up to 300 lbs. The large wheels will be good for travelling over a variety of terrain, due to their size.
Q:
Can this trailer be used for long distance travel... say 100 miles behind a car?
A:
Our heavy-duty Kayak Cart is not designed to be towed by a car or other motorized vehicle, and it is not safe or recommended for that use.
Q:
Can you use this to pull a kayak with a bike?
A:
No, the manufacturer of this Fishing Kayak Trailer specifically warns that this cart is not designed to be pulled by a bicycle (or a motorized vehicle). It is for hand-towing your kayak.
Q:
I have a Nucanoe frontier which is 77 LB and 41 inches at its widest. Can this cart move my Nucanoe plus its gears with weight over 120 LB for about a quarter mile over gravel/beach?
A:
This heavy duty cart can hold a heavy load - up to 300 lbs. So the weight of your kayak & and its gear (even if added together to be 197 lbs) should be fine on it; the only concern is the shape of that model and how wide it is. The cart itself is 31" wide, so at your beam of 41" you will have 5" overhanging on either side of the cart; while it should still fit on it, and it is intended to hold large fishing kayaks, I can't guarantee how well it will work or whether or not it might be awkward. It does well on a variety of terrains, so that part shouldn't be a problem, but the width and possibly the shape of your boat may be a questionmark, though overall this would be one of the best recommendations as possibly working for that model fishing kayak.
Q:
Where on the bicycle does this mount - the seat stem or rear axle?
A:
This particular kayak trailer should notbe attached to a bike. The manufacturer states in the instruction/usage manual that the cart is not designed for use attached to a bicycle or a motorized vehicle. It is for hand-towing of your boat. We do have a bike trailer that works for kayaks, seen here, that attaches to your seat post, with an included clamp, should that be of interest.
