Securely transport your fishing rods to the water The Locking Fishing Rod Roof Rack is specifically designed with the avid angler in mind. The rack allows you to fit up to 4 of your favorite rods within one rack or 8 if you mount 2 racks side-by-side on top pf your vehicle. Avoid the hassle of trying to fit your rods into your car. This can end up in damaging your rod or even tearing up the inside of your vehicle. Keep all your gear safe and ready to go for your next fishing spot!
Unique locking design The rack stands apart from your traditional rod storage system by providing a custom locking clamp to keep your gear from walking away. The front cradles are lined with foam inserts to safely cradle your rods of any size. From thinner freshwater rods to larger saltwater rods, all sizes will fit nice and snug to avoid any movement during transport.
All-weather tough Built from the highest quality materials available, this rack is made to handle any weather conditions you encounter during your adventures. Blazing sun, heavy rain, and even snow won't stop the functionality of your fishing rod rack!
Universal fit for your vehicle The rack comes equipped with universal crossbar adapters so you can easily install the rack to your vehicle's rooftop. Simply position the rack on top of the crossbars based on your rod size, then connect the base pieces using the bolts provided. Great for standard Yakima and Thule crossbars; and works for crossbars up to 3" thick.
Double your capacity The rack system is intentionally designed to only need half of your vehicles roof to store 4 rods. If you have 5-8 rods, you can purchase a second rack to mount side-by-side to carry all of your gear!
Hello, will your fishing rod roof rack secure the reels from theft?
Yes, this fishing rod transportation rack is a locking system. It includes keys, that you use to lock the rod holders in place, to prevent theft of your fishing rods!
I have round bars on my yakima rack; can your fishing rod holder work for me?
This Fishing Rod Rack should fit your Yakima bars -- it has a near universal fit, and includes adapters so that it can attach to most bars; in some cases, if your crossbars are two thick for the included clamp, you should be able to find a longer bolt at a hardware store, that would allow it to work (and what is recommended in that case). The shape should not be a problem, it is just the thickness.
What is the spacing between the clamp screws? In other words. what is the maximum crossbar width I can mount this unit on?
For this fishing rod transportation rack, each 4 rod unit will take up 18" of space on your crossbars. So if you got two sets of them (setting them up on either side of your crossbars, to hold a total of 8 rods), you would need at least 36" of crossbar across the top of the auto, to place them.
Installation was simple and easy only problem is the forward holder needed to be modified to get my surf rods to fit. The opening is only a half moon and it hit the rods before it closed. The solution was easy enough with a hole saw and a drill press.
