Product Description

The Fleece SUP Board Sock is a lightweight yet effective protective layer for your stand up paddleboard. Made from 100% Polyethylene, this bag sock can take the abuse of daily use. The bag simply slides over your SUP then cinches tight on the tail end. No frills or special secret hidden pockets, just a soft fleece protective layer for your board.

This SUP board sock is recommended for lightweight travel and is not intended for airline travel or long road trips. The Fleece Board Sock is a great layer of protection for getting to and from the beach. Additionally, it is also good for preventing any dings or scratches while your board sits around the house.  If you're looking for something you can do some serious traveling with, then check out our SUP Travel Bag

Please note, the 12'4" and 14' versions of this board sock are for race paddleboards. Meaning, the nose of the sock will be "pointier" and less round than typical SUPs.

Keep it covered

Great protection for inside your board bag or standalone. Also super for keeping the sun off your board if it's prone to fading.

Putting the damn thing on the board...

...it was very difficult to get the cover on the board particularly toward the center of the board. Once the cover was on I also realized that my handle was covered which made moving the board back in to its storage area very tough. I also run a lock through my handle which is now not an option. I can buy a seperate piece to address the lock but I would strongly recommend an outside the bag handle.

Q:
My board is 11 feet, what size sock should I order? Should the SUP board sock be the exact same length as my board?

A:
You would want an 11 feet sock for a standup paddle board that is 11 feet long. The SUP socks are a little bit bigger than that size listed, and they also stretch a little, but you go by your SUP's length to know which size to order.

Q:
Is this SUP sock sufficient protection for transporting a board on roof racks, or do I need a bag?

A:
These SUP socks are recommended for light travel only. They will provide a layer of protection for getting to and from the beach, but they are not recommended for airline travel or longer road trips, where you would want to go with a travel bag, such as the one seen here: Standup Paddle Board Bag.

Q:
I need a sock to keep in my car for transport of the board. I have a SUP 9’4” x 4.2” x 30.5” and just need something to easily slip it into after a session without getting sand and water into my car. Which of the two socks shown—the fleece vs the regular sock -- is easier to use? It will not be going on the roof of a car.

A:
There really isn't much of a difference in ease of use for either of the socks. They are going to be similar in use, the fleece one or this sock, so it is going to come down to a person's personal preference. For trying to keep sand and water out of your car, a SUP bag might work better in that regard.

Q:
I store my board outside, sometimes in the rain. Will this bag collect water, or is it porous enough so that rain water will drain away?

A:
The SUP sock is water-resistant because it is fleece, but it isn't waterproof. In heavy rains, water could collect inside it during outdoor storage. Lighter, occasional rains it might be okay, but we couldn't guarantee it.

Q:
my board is a 10'6 boardwalks raven. What size sock is suggested? It is10'6" x 29 3/16" x 6 5/16"

A:
For your 10'6 board, the 11 foot board sock should fit fine - it should give you enough stretch over your board's width and thickness.

Q:
I have a 12'6 x 32" x 5.25" SUP, do I need to go up to a 14' size as I know some socks do not account for wide SUP dimensions?

A:
Yes, the width and the thickness of a board can make it harder to fit many SUP socks; and with this Fleece Sock, the 14' version is race-shaped, so going to be a bit pointier and won't work for all shapes of SUPs (it runs pretty narrow for that particular sock). As an alternative, we do have this EZ Fit SUP Cover that the 14' size would probably be recommended for your board, due to its width & thickness; the EZ Cover is easier to get on and off a board, and the fit is better than a lot of other sock options.
