Product Description

black-road-bike-rack-small.jpgThe Floor to Ceiling Bike Rack is a stylish and effective way to get your bikes off your wall or floor and onto a rack. This rack comes in a polished silver or black style, and is an excellent way to show off your bicycle. Whether it’s a road bike, mountain bike, or children’s bike, this Floor to Ceiling Bike rack can handle it because you can individually position each support arm to fit your needs.

This rack uses a patented “no hole” tension mounting system. Meaning, you won’t need any tools or hardware, and you won’t need to screw into you walls, ceilings, or floors. This works exactly the same way other pressure mount bike racks work.

What’s a pressure mount bike rack? It’s awesome is what it is! A pressure mount rack is a rack that extends from the floor to the ceiling and uses pressure between the two to keep the rack wedged into place. It is a very convenient and easy method to safely secure your bikes. The major benefit being that it requires no drilling or screwing into your walls, ceilings, or floors. This makes the Floor to Ceiling Bike Rack a perfect option for students, renters, or anyone who doesn’t want to damage their home. With high-quality compression foam on every corner, you can rest assured that no damage will be done to your home.

The rack has the ability to adjust between 7 ft and 11 ft tall making it perfect for most homes that have a standard ceiling height of 8 ft. The Floor to Ceiling Bike Rack comes with two arms that can be adjusted along the height of the rack to fit your bikes’ needs. Each arm is carbon steel and vinyl coated to provide a strong, yet gentle place to cradle your bike.

As an option, you can order additional rack arms. This would be useful if you would like to store more than two bikes or want additional arms for general purpose storage. The additional arms are great to hang helmets, kneepads, etc. Please note that you cannot fit more than 2 adult size bikes together on one side of the rack. Additional arms are an excellent idea though if you plan to store children’s bikes (stores 3 children’s bikes!) or bikes on both sides of the rack .

As a bonus, every rack includes Velcro straps that allow you to secure your front wheel to your bikes frame to keep the wheel from swinging out.

  • Adjusts between 7ft and 11ft tall
  • 15" wide x 10" deep
  • 200 lbs capacity

I own two of these racks with the first one being 10 years old. The rack is easy to assemble and offers adjustments to fit any frame type. A great rack at a great price.

Q:
How many bikes can you store on this rack?
A:
Our floor to ceiling bike rack stores 2 bikes if you order it without an extra arm set. As an option you can order one set of extra arms, and that would allow you to store a 3rd bike on the rack. If you add that arm set, you can have 2 adult bikes on one side of the rack, then add the 3rd adult bike on the other side of the rack.
Q:
How does this rack work. Do you simply make it taller than the floor to ceiling and jam it in place or is there an adjuster on it?
A:
Our floor-to-ceiling rack is a pressure mounted rack, so yes you basically adjust it up to the height of your ceiling, where it is held in place. You aren't really jamming it there, but you are adjusting it up to the height of your ceiling; it needs a minimum ceiling height of 7 feet, and can adjust up to an 11 foot space.
Q:
I want to store a bike by locking it to a rack in a shared garage that has public access below my apartment. Is this bike rack secure, meaning a stranger can't just release the bike rack from the pressure mounts without a key and shimmy the bike lock off the released end and walk off with my bike?
A:
Ourfloor to ceiling bike rackdoes not have a built in locking system, though dismantling it from ceiling or floor to lower it,while the bikes were still on it, would be awkward/hard/noisy for someone to do. If the bikes are locked on it, that would help prevent/deter possible theft; someone would have to be determined to take it down to get the locked bike off. If you are in high theft area, that could be possible, but it would be loud and noticeable if soemone tried. There is a plate at top that can be screwed into ceiling beam for additional stability of the rack system, which may also help deter dismantling a little bit (require another step). Additionally, if you do think you want to to use the rack in a garage area, you need to place it where it is clear of the front and rear of vehicles parked there, to avoid having it struck or moved. I hope that helps at least give you an idea
Q:
Can 2 adult bikes be stored on each side (4 total)?
A:
This particular bike rack cannot hold 4 bikes. It does have an option to add 1 extra arm set to hold 3 bikes. However, this two bike pressure mount rackdoes have the option to add 2 additional sets of arms for it to hold 4 bikes total.
Q:
Can you use this with a slanted ceiling?
A:
For this pressure-mounted floor-to-ceiling bike rack, you will need a level floor & a level ceiling for it to work properly - it won't work in a slanted space!
