This rack is solid construction and very easy to assemble. Although it did take me about an hour to assemble, partly from the tight space that I allotted for assembly.
Easy to assemble
Comes in several boxes that are easy to carry
Paint coated construction to prevent rust
Adjustable feet for uneven ground
Easy directions to follow
Limited tools required - two wrenches
Sleek color scheme
Set up for customization - one could add levels to the back of this rack unit
-A bit taller than anticipated
-Weight limit is only 300 pounds, although with kayaks SUPs and multiple surf boards on each rack, this thing is very sturdy. I would feel more comfortable with a higher weight limit
-One shipped box was incredibly heavy and not marked so. My poor neighbor moved this box and I will never hear the end of it.
No real cons here. I suggest getting the 4-6 racks option. Well worth the money. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to keep their SUPs, Kayaks, and Surfboards in safe condition for years.
Pro tip, look for foam blocks to cover the feet on the bottom of the rack to create an extra rack level for a kayak or board. It's possible that the kayak option comes with this, but you could add a level easily with two blocks on the bottom.
The rack is great except for the junction for the two verticals has a little play in it which allows the top half of the rack to tilt a little. Need a longer sleeve or something there. We have been trying to compensate with balance on the other side. Also nice to have covers on the bolts as they will press up against carbon fiber boards. Other than that we are very happy with the rack
The rack is great except for one minor flaw - the junction for the two verticals has a little play in it which allows the top half of the rack to tilt a little. Maybe a compression sleeve or some type of shim would help to stabilize it. Other than that we are very happy with the rack and great customer service.
I feel pretty good about this racks strength and stability with six boards loaded up. Installation wasn't too difficult, but some better instructions would have been nice.
It was perfect. I am pleased with it in every way. I started to have a welding shop make something similar for me, but it would have cost me 5x more $. Easy to assemble. Love it.
