Use your ceiling storage space! Does it seem like you garage or basement is running out of space to store things? This is the rack for you. This ceiling storage rack mounts to the ceiling and then has a pulley system that easily raises and lowers your stuff without have to use a ladder, keep you feet safely planted on the ground and let your stored belongings come down to you.
This garage ceiling lift gives you 16 square feet of storage space and you can still keep your garage free to actually park your car! This storage rack is heavy duty, built from steel it can hold up to 250lbs of gear. The pulley will lower and raise the platform up to 8ft. Use the included hand crank or use a power drill to raise and lower your stuff. The great thing about this rack is that it stores a variety of things neatly out of the way up close to the ceiling but it is also very accessible. Sometimes when you have a ceiling rack you want to put stuff up there you hardly ever use, not the case with this ceiling storage rack - it is very easy to raise and lower the platform. You can't possibly list all the things this rack can store but things like boxes, totes, seasonal items, yard furniture, tires, tools, coolers, lawn chairs, folding tables, and many many more things!
Please review all steps in the installation process prior to the actual installation. Begin assembly of the storage platform on the ground by first laying the metal grid on top of the rectangular beams with the smaller holes on top. Slide the J bolts through the holes and hook over the edges. Install the remaining hardware and tighten securely. Next, find a ceiling mounting location with joists 48 inches apart. The arms of the storage system will be attached to these joists using the included hardware. If joists 48 inches apart cannot be found, you can span the joists by mounting the arms to a sturdy board, then, attach the board to the span joists.
Next, fasten the arms to the T-brackets, then attach the arms to the ceiling joists, being certain to square them up along the joist line before mounting. Now, assemble the winding axle with the supplied hardware. Slide the round end of the axle into the bearing, then align the gear drive’s square hole with the axle and attach the gear drive with the supplied cap screws. Be sure the nylon cables face towards the center of the axle. Then, thread the nylon cables from the winding axle to create the pulley assembly used to raise and lower the platform. Attach the cargo platform using the included bolts at all four corners. Level the platform by pulling the cable through the nylon rings.
Next, assemble the winding crank with the included sleeve, lock, nuts, and bolts. Test the platform’s operation by winding it up and down several times. If it operates smoothly, lower the platform to waist level and evenly load up to 250 pounds of gear. Raise the platform to its highest position and engage the yellow safety lock. To lower or raise the platform, disengage the lock by inserting the crank hook into the lock slot, pulling towards the gear loop to lock or away from the gear loop to unlock. Installation of the Racor Heavy Lift Storage System is now complete.
