Product Description

hard-roof-rack-for-sup.jpgThe Hard SUP Roof Rack is a premium car and SUV hard roof rack designed for transporting your SUPs. The Hard SUP Roof Rack is designed to hold up to 2 full-sized SUPs for vehicles with pre-existing factory crossbars. This particular SUP rack system is one of the most affordable and versatile hard roof racks available.

The Hard SUP Roof Rack is a complete racking system that includes (4) universal, self-adjusting saddles, (2) foam spacers, (2) 15ft heavy duty tie down straps, corrosion resistant mounting hardware, and detailed instructions - this is everything you need to safely and securely transport up to two SUPs. This Hard SUP rack system is particularly great because it is designed to work with a variety of crossbar designs - round, oval, and square.

How it works:
Self-adjusting saddles – the saddles are the foundation of this hard rack system and are the components that attach to your existing crossbars. With the provided hardware, you will secure the 4 saddles to the crossbars - 2 per crossbar (see pictue on right). The saddles are able to swivel, so when you place your board down in them they will naturally seek a position that safely craddles your board. Each saddle has a non-slip rubber pad on it to prevent damage to your SUP.
Spacer foam block – the spacer foam block is what sits between your two SUPs. Once you’ve installed the saddles and placed down the first SUP, then you put the spacer foam block down. After you have that in place, you can put your second SUP down.
Tie down straps – these tie down straps are used to secure your SUPs down to your car. You should loop the straps across both boards and then around a fixed anchor point like the crossbar or any front-to-back rack bars your vehicle may have.

  • Holds up to 100lbs
  • Saddle dimensions: 7" long x 5" wide x 7" tall
  • 22" long spacer foam pad
  • (2) 15ft straps

Easy Install - Easy to Use

Most roof racks look simple to install and use, but end up being difficult to adjust or do not operate as expected.

Not this one! Install is super easy, one glance at the instructions and 10 minutes later the rack is installed. The flexible board cradles are great. The board sets in perfectly making the tie down step a whole lot easier than just strapping down to the factory crossbars.

The included straps are strong and more than long enough to accommodate two boards.

This rack made the trip back from the beach, a lot less nerve racking. Wasn't watching the board through the sunroof on the 4 hour drive at 75mph.

Great product.

Great product, just need a way to lock them to the roof racks.

Q:
Do the hard cross bars come with this, that the saddles attach to?
A:
This SUP roof rack system doesn't include the crossbars - your vehicle needs to already have factory crossbars installed, to use it. However, it comes complete with everything else you would need to transport 1-2 boards (4 saddles, mounting hardware, load straps and spacer blocks).
Q:
Can one person with good strength load their sup on their own once the rack is in place?
A:
Once you have set up this hard roof rack, if you are normally able to lift your SUP onto the top of your roof on your own, you should be fine to secure it to this roof rack on your own, and not need assistance.
Q:
It does not look like there are locks included in this roof rack, correct?
A:
Thishard SUP roof racksecures your SUPs to the the rack, and to your vehicle's crossbars, but it does not include locking straps. You could use something likedocklocks for SUPsto lock the boards in addition to the roof rack. The docklocks will provide theft prevention, but are not meant as a tie-down in transport, only as a cable locking system.
Q:
I have Cadillac Escalade.Does this rack work on it. Do I need cross bars too?
A:
This SUP roof rack is meant for cars with existing, crossbars already installed on the car, and fits most round, square and oval crossbars. If you don't have crossbars on your car, you would want to look at a a system such as this removable SUP roof rack, which works without them, as along as your vehicle has 4 doorways to run its straps through.
