The Overhead Canoe Ceiling Hoist is the perfect option if you’re looking to clear up floor or wall space in your garage, shed, or boathouse. This easy-to-use ceiling lift is an entire hoist system that allows you to effortlessly store your canoe up and away. Overhead storage is one of the most underutilized storage spaces in homes, garages, and boathouses. Because of their large size, canoes tend to be stored outside leaning against a wall or shed upside down. This not only causes the color to fade in the sun but also provides an excellent habitat for insects and other unwanted critters! Do yourself a favor and pick up the Canoe Ceiling Hoist for a cleaner, easier way to store your canoe!
Classic or Pro? Our popular Hi-Lift hoist is now available in both the "Classic" design as well as our new "Pro" version. Our Classic hoist comes equipped with hooks at either end to hold the tie down straps. Opt for our new Pro version and you can use custom-designed loading brackets instead of hooks. The Pro also includes a center connecting strap, perfect for kayaks, canoes, and SUPs with a tapered shape at each end. This connector piece will secure your hoist in a fixed position and make sure the load straps stay right where you need them. The Pro version also comes equipped with a 10 ft. longer rope for use with higher ceilings.
Included in the hoist system are two mounting brackets with pulleys that attach to your ceiling, 2 heavy duty ropes that can support up to 60 lbs, a wall mounted tie-off cleat to secure the ropes when you’re not using them, high-strength straps that allow you to wrap underneath your canoe, and two hooks that connect the straps to the hoist. This is a complete ceiling hoist system for your canoe!
Designed to work on ceilings up to 12 ft high, this system will work in almost any garage or shed! Since the height of the hoist is determined by how much you pull the rope through the pulleys, you can set your canoe’s height at whatever is most convenient for you! Your ceiling does not need to be finished with drywall because this Ceiling Hoist works just fine on open joists too! Meaning, you can attach this canoe and kayak lift system to just about any structural beam.
As an added bonus, this hoist system works great for your other organization needs too! Bikes, ladders, paddleboards, kayaks, and other gear also work well with the Ceiling Hoist too. The high-strength universal straps also double as tie-down straps for use with your car's roof rack. So the next time you head out to the water, take your canoe directly from your hoist to your car using the same straps to secure your canoe. Depending on your ceiling height, save yourself an extra step and hoist your canoe directly above your car in the garage to raise and lower directly onto your roof rack!
Get organized and take advantage of that unused overhead storage space!

Hey, guys! This is Mark with StoreYourBoard.
With me here today, I have our very popular Hi-Lift Ceiling Hoist. This is an excellent solution to get your gear up out of the way towards the ceiling with a very stress-free loading experience.
This is perfect for kayaks, paddleboards, surfboards, or any other gear you have around your house or garage that you need to get up out of the way but don’t want to lift by yourself up onto a ceiling rack.
The hoist provides a 4:1 mechanical advantage up to 90 pounds to store your gear even as heavy as your kayaks. It’s available as both a pro as well as a classic design option.
Today with me here, I have a pro version, which includes a center-connecting strap here, which is adjustable, as well as square-loading brackets for the straps. This provides a much more secure system for kayaks, canoes, or paddleboards that have a more tapered end to each side to prevent the straps from wanting to walk or wiggle each direction. It keeps it nice and secure in the center of your board or boat here.
The standard option uses the exact same ceiling hoist system. Only a hook design instead of the square brackets. Same concept using the loading straps, only allows for the quicker loading and unloading of your boat.
The system is very easy to operate. It comes with a wall tiedown cleat to wrap off and anchor down the excess rope.
Pull down straight down below the rope to release it and lower. Simply let go to the side for gravity to grab the brake again and secure your boat. Once again, pull straight down to release on both ends of the rope to lift.
The hoist comes equipped with these heavy-duty tiedown straps with protective rubber casings on the cleats here. Excellent way to handle all the weight as well as makes it very adjustable for whatever board or gear you need to hoist up into the ceiling. Even handy enough to lower this directly down onto your car in some cases in a garage. Take the straps, right under your car rack, strap your gear down. You’re ready to hit the road.
Installation is very simple. I recommend checking out our install video in the link below. Again, this is our Hi-Lift Ceiling Hoist.

The concept and design of the lift system is very good. Works great for my kayak. That said, both the written directions and YouTube video are not so great. The written Directions are pretty much worthless. The video is better but leaves many steps open for interpretation. Also the lag bolts are super cheap. The Phillips head on the lag bolt stripped completely with my Dewalt driver drill on low speed. The lag bolt is also supposed to drive with a socket but unfortunately, it’s a size that is not either English or metric. So, I bought new lag bolts from my local Ace. Last, one of the required 4 carriage bolts was missing in the package. Fortunately, I bought two lift kits and was able to canabalize the second to finish the first install. I will go back to Ace and get another carriage bolt tomorrow. All the frustration aside, this is a sweet rig once it’s up.
This is great for a single person to load on your car rack and keeps my kayak out of the way when not in use.
The hoist is easy to install and worked as promised. Although it is rated for 90lbs, I believe lifting that much weight with it is impractical.
Love this canoe hoist. Simple to install and use. I would recommend this product to everyone.
Product is constructed in good working condition. The instructions are incorrect as to the distance the pulleys are to be mounted. Otherwise it was easy to install and is working great
The hoist worked just as promised. More importantly it worked as anticipated. I have an 18 ft. Wenonah that weighs 62 lbs. After considering how and where best to install the hoist, I am very satisfied. The installation was straight forward. It is so nice to have reclaimed the outdoor space previously used for storage.
Well made product works as advertised. My only complaint is that the rope provided is of poor quality. After raising and lowering three times the rope is already frayed.
The canoe hoist is easy to install and works great. Great the adjustable straps.
Was very easy to install once I located the ceiling joists. Handy to be able to store canoe inside, yet up and out of way.
