Product Description

Live at the beach? Want a rack to use outside or on your pier? This Marine Grade Kayak Storage Rack is made from galvanized steel and stainless steel hardware to provide a completely rust-proof kayak storage solution. This rack is designed to withstand a harsh salt water environment. This is the upgraded version of Suspenz's Deluxe Rack. It has all the same features of the Deluxe rack, but with rust-proof components.

The Marine Grade Kayak Storage Rack is a unique kayak wall rack because it will store your boat with zero pressure points. Made by Suspenz, this rack includes their exclusive Cradling Strap System (CSS) which is effectively a suspension strap system. These suspension straps conform to your kayak's geometry and are what allow this rack to not create any pressure points on your boat - awesome!

This wall mount is Suspenz's premium kayak rack and includes load assist pivot arms that make loading and unloading your kayak easy and a one-person job. The Marine Grade Kayak Storage Rack is also great due to its heavy duty and powder coated metal frame. The tubular steel construction will ensure a long lifetime and allows you to store kayaks up to 100 lbs.

Another key feature about this suspension kayak rack is that it has built in safety straps. These are adjustable straps that can be tightened down to ensure your rack stays securely in place. This is a great feature if you store your boat outdoors in a windy spot or if you're afraid someone might bump into your board.

About Suspenz:

This is a suspension strap system found on most of their racks that ensures there will never be any pressure points applied to your kayak or board. Additionally, Suspenz is known for highly customizable, expandable, and universal storage systems. All Suspenz products also have a one year warranty from the manufacturer.

So this rack is just the bomb. Stupid simple installation (I mounted on 4X4" posts of fence next to our house) and easy to adjust. Hoping the Marine Grade holds up to our northwest rains, but assuming if it can handle marine air, rain will be easy. Look nice and will be easy to change out the straps in a few years if needed. Tried about 3-4 rack systems over the last 15 years for our kayaks and hope this one will last for another 15.

Q:
For salt water environment, attached to an outdoor posts near the dock, which do you recommend to not rust? Suspenz deluxe marine grade rack, or the swivel indoor/outdoor stainless steel rack. I like the swivel mechanism, but it must be rust proof.

A:
Either this Marine Grade Kayak Rack or the Stainless Steel rack will be good, rust-proof options for your kayak in a salt water environment, and we recommend both for such use. They are overall very comparable racks. The stainless steel one holds a heavier load, up to 200 lbs versus 100, and has the optional swivel mount available to purchase. Both store the kayaks on their sides, but this suspension cradle rack offers maybe a little more protection for your kayak over time with the cradle/strap system it uses. As far as the racks being able to withstand that environment, either would be a good choice, so it really will be up to your personal preference.

Q:
Does the rack fit a paddle board?

A:
Our Marine Grade Kayak rack does work for SUPs. It is a rack that is designed to hold fairly large kayaks, and even canoes, so works best for cradling those shapes. For a SUP, your board may end up leaning against the wall on the top side, so an alternative option to consider would be the Suspension Cradle Rack, or here shown in galvanized version. That wall mount will hold a SUP without creating pressure points, because of the shape of the rack and cradling system and.

Q:
Do you have any way of locking these straps?

A:
This marine grade rack does not have a built-in way to lock the straps. We do have a couple of kayak locking systems available, seen in our locks and safety gear section, that could be used in conjunction with this rack system, to secure your kayak to deter theft. Either of the Universal Locks (small or large) or Kayak Dock Lock systems could be used with the rack.
