I was concerned about traveling at higher speeds with a 8' surfboard secured in rack. I easily mounted surf rack on rack behind seat with minor modifications needed. The secret to safe travel is securing the nose of the board to the scooter to keep the wind from catching the board and causing it to flop around. I use bungee cords to keep nose of board tight against the body of the scooter (nose forward and snug against frame), and the board doesn't move at all! Fastest I've been so far is 45mph, but I'm confident I can get to 50mph plus and the surf rack will work just fine to get me a few miles to the beach. Be careful, but I would recommend this rack for your scooter too!

My mopet is a honda elite 125cc

The title should read Moped/Scooter Surf Rack. I went with looking for a rack for my Vespa.

Love it! However, I've been riding with my board on the right side, but I'm going to try it on the left because it's hard to get to my kicker pedal because it's on the right. I really like the ease of use with it.

Q:
Will this moped surf rack work on my Ruckus?
A:
Unfortunately no. We have had several customers make some modified clamps and they get it to work. Straight out of the box it will not bolt onto your Ruckus.
Q:
Will the rack work under the seat of a Yamaha Zuma 125?Or does it have to be mounted to the rear rack?
A:
This surfboard rack will need to be mounted to the rear rack of your Yahama Zuma 125. It comes with a plate that is used for the mounting there. This rack doesn't mount under the seat for some mopeds.
Q:
I have a Zuma 125, once this rack is installed will I still be able to ride doubles on my moped? If not, is it easy to uninstall the 2 braces that hold the surfboard, and then I can ride doubles?
A:
The back plate of this rack for your moped is bolted on with two screws (and not quick release), so will take time to take off. Riding tandems while transporting a surfboard might be difficult to manage safely, so is not really recommended.
Q:
Will the rack work for a SUP?
A:
No, this moped rack would not be recommended for transporting a stand-up paddle board, due to the size and shape of SUPS. It can, however, safely transport shorter and longer surfboards, as it has adjustable arms to fit a variety of board lengths.
Q:
I want to buy a rack for a vespa ET4150, does this rack work? Does it work for any size of surfboard?
A:
This moped surfboard racks works for short or longboards, however, the manufacturer doesn't give any specification on a maximum size board. It should work on most Vespas -- It attaches via a clamping system either under the seat, or to a rear-mounted cargo rack.
Q:
Will this fit on a Genuine, Buddy 150 (St. Tropez)?
A:
Our Moped Surfboard rack attaches to a moped with a clamping plate system; it either attaches under your seat or to a rear mounted cargo rack -- so whether it will work for your Genuine Buddy 150 depends on whether you can mount something under your seat; if not, if you have a rear cargo rack, it would have to attach there.
Q:
I have a Vespa GTS300 with a top case. Will this mount allow for room for the top case connection as well?
A:
The moped surfboard rack can also attach under your seat. You can see a picture of how it mounts under the seat on our listing, if you rotate through the pictures for it at the top. That might be an alternate way to use it with the Top Case, as this rack might not mount properly to the rear rack with the Top Case in place .
Q:
Will this fit a Honda aero 50?
A:
Our moped surfboard rack could work for your Honda Aero 50 two possible ways: you can mount it under the seat or to a rear cargo rack. So if you are able to remove the seat to mount the surfboard rack's plate, that could work, you can see a picture of what that looks like on our listing. If it doesn't fit under seat or seat doesn't remove, the other option is attaching it to the rear rack. There aren't any other guidelines available from the manufacturer to give you a better idea, but hopefully that helps.
Q:
How can I make it work for a 2011 Yamaha C3?
A:
Our surfboard rack for mopeds comes with a clamping plate system that attaches under your seat or to a rear-mounted cargo rack. If you aren't able to attach it under the seat of a 2011 Yamaha C3, then you would need to have a rear-mounted cargo rack for it to work. Those are the only clamping options for this rack to work properly, we are =unaware of any viable work-around for your Yamaha.
Q:
Would this work 10 foot paddle board on the Vespa 150
A:
The Moped Surfboard Rack is not going to work for a Stand-up Paddle Board (a SUP) - it isn't designed to hold the shape or size of a SUP. It otherwise works on most Vespas, for holding a surfboard.
Q:
Would this work for a Jonway yy50qt-6 4 strokes?
A:
Our Moped Surfboard Rack does not have fit guide available from the manufacturer, so we can't advise if it will work for your model - the only guidelines available are that it attaches under your seat or to a rear cargo rack. If you don't have a rear cargo rack, you would need to be able to get under the seat to set this up, and again, we really can't guarantee it will work for your moped, but hope that gives you an idea.
Q:
I have a 2009 Honda Metropolitan which has the factory installed rack. Will this Carver Rack fit right out of the box?
A:
This moped rack's only specifications are it can attach under a seat or to a rear mounted cargo rack, so if your's has a rear cargo rack, it should be fine. It includes the hardware to attach it to the cargo rack.
Q:
Does it fit on a Schs Amici?
A:
Unfortunately, there is no manufacturer's fit guide to guarantee which mopeds this board rack can work for. The only guidelines available are that it can attach to a rear cargo basket or under the seat. So if you don't have a rear cargo basket, it depends on whether you have a seat that allows this rack to be attached beneath it.

Q:
Can it hold a 7'6 mini mal? Iam worried if it is fitted to behind the seat of my scooter, it will stick out too far at back. Law is 30 to front and 60cm to back is allowed.
A:
As far as length of board goes, it can work for some longboards, but you are correct to be concerned how far out it sticks in front or back for safety. The manufacturer does not list an exact board length specification, as that may vary by mope/board for the user, but caution is always recommended to safely transport oneself and their board.
Q:
I wish to mount this rack on my Honda Silverwing. Has this rack been mounted on a larger scooter, to your understanding?
A:
The only specifications I have on what mopeds/scooters these side racks work for is whether or not you have a removable seat it can attach under/clamp to, or a rear cargo rack. Beyond that, there are no fit guide specifications available from the manufacturer that will guarantee whether it will work for certain models - and we haven't seen anyone using it with a larger scooter/moped, or heard any feedback from someone that has done so.
Q:
Do the racks slide off easily if I want to ride without them sometimes?
A:
The Moped Surfboard Rack will be clamped on, under your seat or to a rear cargo rack - so you can remove them, but you will need to use a tool to do so. There is no "quick release" but they are removable otherwise.
Q:
Could i use this rack to carry my beach chair?
A:
I can't recommend this moped rack for anything but a surfboard. I don't know how well the chair would fit in or secure to the rack, and there could be other issues once you are riding to the beach, and since it wasn't made for that use, we just can't recommend it. It does work for surfboards, but it was designed to do that.
Q:
Hey I have a Yamaha Vino 50cc -- Will this rack work for it ?!
A:
Our Moped Surfboard Rack does not have an official fit guide available from the manufacturer - so to know if it will work for your Yamaha, we only have a couple of guidelines available to go by:

Do you have a removable seat or seat you can access the underside of? If so you can attach the board rack under the seat with the provided clamping.

Alternately, do you have a rear cargo basket? If so, you can attach the board rack to that, with the same clamping plate.

If neither, then it won't work. I hope that helps give you an idea!
Q:
i have an rv with roof bars that i wonder if I could attach this to. Is there anything specific about it being a moped rack that would prevent it from being attached to a rack on the side of an rv? and is it capable of highway speeds?
A:
I cannot recommend this Moped Board Rack for use on a RV; it is manufactured to attach under a moped's seat or to its cargo basket, with very specific hardware that is included it with it. Because of the way it mounts, it would not be attachable securely to the side of another type of vehicle (the way its arms are set up would not secure the board properly that way).
Q:
Will this rack work on the Pioneer P256 electric scooter?
A:
There isn't a manufacturer's fit guide available on this moped/scooter rack, to guarantee it will work on a specific model - but in looking at a photo of that model, I don't think it will work. There won't be a way to clamp it under your seat. The alternative clamping is to a rear cargo basket, but I don't see that work clamping there either, I think there would be other issues.
Q:
How many miles can it go before recharge and what's weight limit?
A:
This Surfboard Rack attaches to a moped, to transport your board on your moped/scooter. It is just the board rack though - you need to have a moped or scooter to attach it to, the scooter is not included. The manufacturer does not list a maximum weight limit for the board rack; as a general guide it can fit most short and long surfboards -- but it won't work for SUPs (paddleboards).
Q:
Will this fit on a Vespa PX150?
A:
Our Moped & Scooter Rack for Surfboards doesn't have an official guide available from the manufacturer, that will guarantee it will work for a specific make/model moped or scooter; instead we have to go by some basic guidelines. so you can get an idea if it might work for your Vespa:

1) If can attach under your seat - so if you can access under your seat, it could work;
2) It can also attach to a rear cargo basket -- so if you have a rear cargo basket, it could work.

If neither option applies to your Vespa, the surfboard rack can't attach properly, and won't work.
Q:
Can the rack work on a motorcycle?
A:
Our Moped/Scooter Surfboard Rack does *not* work for motorcycles, unfortunately! It isn't built for use on them, so doesn't attach to one, and would not be safe. We don't have an alternative to suggest that is meant for motorcycles.
