Product Description

The Paddleboard Dock Rack is an innovative and easy-to-use outdoor storage solution. Save space by storing your SUP off the side of your dock or pier, and save yourself trips lugging your SUP back and forth to the waterside.

  • Built for the Outdoors. Made from Aluminum parts and stainless steel hardware, so it is completely weatherproof and designed to withstand harsh marine environments.
  • Space Saver. Great for narrow piers or walkways because it attaches to the side of your dock, with your SUP mounted over the water, saving you precious dock space!
  • Lift Assist Arm. Makes loading and unloading your paddleboard simple, for anyone. The Rack folds down and inserts your SUP into the water, and folds up to remove it from the water. An aluminum arm and webbing cradle swings down to (or up from) the water so you can maneuver your paddleboard into the rack while it is still in the water. Once your boat is in the cradle, swing the aluminum arm up and your SUP into its storage position.

I See Two Options...Which is Right for Me? We get this question a lot! There are 2 versions of this dock rack that look very similar, but function slightly different. Continue reading to determine which rack is right for you, then select the chosen rack from the dropdown menu above.

  1. Dockside Rack:  The Dockside version is designed for boarding and exiting your SUP from the dock. Ideal for docks in deep water or floating docks, accommodating freeboards (dock height above water) up to 30". Here's the major difference between this version and the Waterside Rack: The Dockside Rack will begin to tilt toward the water when you release the locking pins. This is ideal when you're on the dock because you'll be above the rack and able to control the descent with the included line (see video).
  2. Waterside Rack (as shown in Left Video): if your dock is in shallow water and you will board your SUP by standing in the water, select the Waterside version of this rack. The Waterside Rack operates differently in that it will not begin its descent until you, the operator, manually move the lifting arms. This is a safety feature that is not necessary when using the other rack from the dock.

2 Dock Mounting Options: (1) Bolt-on and (2) Clamp-on. Both options fit decks 1" to 1.5" thick and include 2 slots to provide for vertical adjustment to meet different water levels.

(1) Bolt-on Mount:

  • For wood or composite decking; not for aluminum decking
  • Requires bolting into your dock or pier

(2) Clamp-on Mount:

  • Tool-free installation
  • For wood, composite, or aluminum decking
  • Requires access to underside of dock
  • Dock must have side height less than 7.5"
  • Truss-type docks must have decking-to-bottom-rail height of 10" or less

Q:
Is this dock rack good for a tidal river?

A:
If you have a floating dock, this rack will be fine for a tidal river. However, this rack is made out of aluminum, which will work fine in salt water, but there may be salt build up over time. The stainless steel version would be the preferred rack for use in a salt water environment.

Q:
How far down into the water can this rack go?

A:
This dock rack has 2 mounting positions, so:

- In the upper position the rack will manage Dock decking to water heights of 10 inches to 26 inches;

- In the lower position the rack will manage Dock Decking to water heights of 14 inches to 30 inches.

Q:
Canthis rack hold 2 boards at the same time or only just one?

A:
Our dock side SUP rack will just hold one SUP, it won't work properly to hold two, particularly since it is set up to allow you to rack your board while in the water, so you don't have to deadlift it out. However, if you need to store more than one board on your dock, we have some other options, such as this dock rack that is available for 1-3 boards, though you are storing that rack system on top of your dock, not alongside it. Another option would be this double suspension SUP rack, that can be used on docks/piers. You can find some other dock options for your SUPs here.

Q:
Your paddle board video only shows kayak storage. Is it used for both?

A:
Yes -our SUP dock rack works for SUPs or kayaks.

Q:
Can you lock up the board using this rack?

A:
Our SUP dock/pier rack doesn't include a built-in lock, but you could use theseSUP dock locks, in conjunction with it. The SUP dock lock system includes a 10 foot locking cable (with built-in combination lock) and a jaw clamp that attaches to your SUP's leash plug.

Q:
Do you make a rack that can be used to house both a kayak and an SUP?

A:
This Kayak Lift Assist Dock Rack also works for a SUPs that are up to 34" wide; you can see it listed for SUPs here, but they are the exact same rack. It can only hold one item at a time though, it isn't available as a double rack. So if you needed to use the rack for both a kayak and a SUP at the same time, you would need two of them.

Q:
Will this rack mount on the side of a Wave Armor floating dock system?

A:
To know whether this Dock Rack work for your WaveArmour floating dock system, you wil need to identify what material that is made out of -- iss it wood, composite or aluminum? This Dock Rack has two options for how it mounts to a dock (which you choose when ordering). The clamp-on mount can work for wood, composite or aluminum docks; the bolt-on mount only works for wood or composite.

If you think the clamp-on mount might be suited for your floating dock, there are two other considerations for the clamp-on mount:

Dock must have side height less than 7.5";
Truss-type docks must have decking-to-bottom-rail height of 10" or less

Additionally, we offer the dock rack system not only with two different ways it can attach to your dock, but two different ways it operates: for floating docks, the Dock-Side Entry version of the rack is usually preferred. With that version you are boarding and exiting your SUP from the dock (not standing in the water...).

So to know if it will work for your particular floating dock, you will need to identify what material it is made from, to see if it can be bolted or clamped to that particular dock. Once you identify the materials, if you need further clarification on whether one of the mounts would work, or need further assistance, let us know.

Q:
Will this rack work for my Hobie Cat Mirage Eclipse The model is 12 Feet long and 36 inches wide and weighs 58 pounds.

A:
Our Paddleboard Dock Rack unfortunately will work for your paddle board. This rack fits SUP's that are up to 36" wide, and since your SUP is 36" wide, it is just at the maximum width this rack can hold and it should work well for you!

Q:
I have a concrete dock that is 5 inches thick. Will the clamp system work ans clamp to the 5 " concrete ?

A:
With the clamp style mount, these dock racks can be mounted *in some cases* to concrete docks. It would not work for concrete that is 5'' thick without a custom modification that could be arranged for, so if interested we would need some pictures of the underside of the concrete dock. There are some other parameters for whether that modification could work: the dock would need to have a 2" lip (of concrete or a 2 x 8 board attached to the side of the concrete); and the mount would need to reach 16" back from the edge of the dock. If these conditions are met, with a picture of the underside of the dock we could confirm whether a customized mount was available for you.

Alternately - the *bolt-on* clamp option for these dock racks is an alternative that can work for concrete docks without modification -- you just would need to purchase any style of the concrete anchors available at numerous Home Improvement Centers ( Lowes, Home Depot, Ace, etc.) or anywhere you buy hardware.

Very easily to assemble. Easy to use. One video shows 2 SUP Boards, we put one SUP and a kayak on top of it, its a little heavy to lift up with the strap but it holds and it works great. All the neighbors at the lake want one. Great product.

Very low to water - Too many loose straps

We have a house on the bay - waves/wakes from boats and wind can get high. This holder is very low on the dock...and the straps are very long with no way to store them. Frequently we find that the straps are hanging in the water -getting algae etc all over them. The holder seems sturdy - so in spite of being hit by an occasional wave...there have been no problems with the unit. The wake board is fairly loose - because the straps form a triangle - not actually gripping the board - so we are concerned that board could be washed out of the holder.

Love it!

The rack works really well and makes it way more user friendly for my wife to use the board more often. Easy off and easy on! We'll probably buy another for our second board.

A great buy

We use this product for a 45 pound Hobiecat Mirage Eclipse paddle board. Now the kids can handle these boards themselves without banging them up. A job that usually took 2 now is done effortlessly by 1.
It easily attached to my aluminum dock too.

Awesome - No hassle

I love this dock rack! It makes it so easy to put my board in and out of the water from off my dock. I used to feel like I was going to fall in, throw my back, or damage the board. This is a nice solution to this problem. Highly recommend.
