This Powder Ski Rack makes it easy to store your skis! No tools required, no need to drill into your walls, just get this ski rack out of the box, snap on the base stabilizers, put your skis in, and you are done! Set it up wherever you want to store your skis - garage, basement, retail shop, lodge, rental, anywhere. Great for rental homes and apartments that can't mount racks to walls.
How does the rack work with my skis? The rack is simple to use, it comes in a box as 3 pieces: the 1 base that holds your skis plus the 2 legs that slide into the base. The base has 8 slots to fit a total of 4 pairs of skis, 1 slot for each ski. This is great so each ski is supported separately in the rack, although you can always add Velcro Ski Straps for additional support. Looking for a place to put your poles? You can put the straps over the tips of your skis and this rack will hold your poles as well.
How many skis will it hold? The Wide "Powder Ski" Rack holds 4 skis. The Standard Rack holds 5 skis. See fit information below.
What size skis does it fit?
What is the rack made of? A very durable, sturdy polycarbonate (heavy duty plastic) so it will withstand years of use yet is light and portable so you can move it anywhere you want. You also don't have to worry about it warping or shrinking like wood racks. Its vertical design is perfect so that after your ski session as snow melts off your skis and bindings it drips right out the bottom of the rack.
Hey! This is Josh from StoreYourBoard.com here today to talk about Freestanding Ski Racks. I got a couple of models. We’ve got a standard version, a powder ski version, and the deluxe one that holds up to 16 pairs of skis. The great thing about Freestanding Ski Racks is you don’t have to anchor it to a wall. You don’t have to screw and drill and mess up your drywall and do all other stuff. It comes with a box. You pop the feet in and you’re good to go.
The two different versions work the same. They’re like this. They’re made of solid rugged plastic and they have these feet on the bottom. When you get them, they come like this. This part is fully assembled, and all you have to do is pop the feet in, which is basically a channel, and all you do is slide it, see it that way maybe, slide it on through. Then you’ve got your legs. It’s super easy to set up. No tools required. Sets up in a couple of minutes. No problem.
What we have is a couple of versions. This is our standard version. It has five slots – one, two, three, four, five – and each are 4.5 inches wide, so that’s the width of your tails that you need to measure and that’s going to be that dimension. That’s important because the newer powder ski version was designed to accommodate those wide skis, and as you can see, that distance is about 5.5 inches or 140 millimeters to fit the bigger fatter skis.
The other thing that you want to look at and I’ll show you this side by side is depending on how much upturn you have in your tails, this distance right there is smaller on the standard versus the freestanding. So on the freestanding version, you’ve got probably 2-3/8 and on the standard version, you’ve got more like 1-7/8, so depending on how high your upturn of your ski is on the back, you’ve got to worry about fitting them in as well. Those are the two versions. They’re similar in price. You can get 5 in with the standard; you can get 4 in with the powder ski version, but you can fit a lot fatter skis.
I’ll show you how they work right now. We got a couple of different types of skis. These are more of a race ski, definitely no problem fitting in the standard version. So what happens is you put your skis together like this, and then what you do is you split them down the center spline right there, and that’s how they get held. You insert them like that and they stand up no problem, no hassle, easy-peasy. You got that.
It also works for a pair of old mountain skis. You put it back here and then we also have a pair of Telemark skis, which you need to have a ski band to put these in like this, but once you have your ski band, go ahead and put that in and they all work great. Really super easy simple solution for you, for your skis. Some people ask us what to do with the poles, and a good idea for what you do with the poles is you just take this loop and put it over – we put them in this lower rack and put them over the shovel of the ski right like that. We have the skis in your poles right there. Easy to use.
Let me finish by showing you this big old 16 version skis. If you have a bunch of skis, you own a shop, you have a condo unit, this is a great option. It comes like this. Basically, all that’s changed is you got a bigger brace on the bottom where you can fit up to four of these in one piece. That’s it. Check it out. Buy now. StoreYourBoard.com. Thank you.
It seems to me that this product (free standing 'powder' ski rack) is way overpriced at $75. It's made of lightweight molded plastic and the feet slip slide all over the place because there is nothing provided to keep them fixed in place. Guess I will have to glue them...? Can't figure out why it is designed this way.
I do like the fact that it doesn't have to be mounted, but come on folks, how 'bout something heavy duty with firm feet at that price point. I thought I would be buying something much sturdier.
I am pleased with this rack, can move it around and no holes in the wall
Just as advertised. On time and perfect condition.
It is really cheaply produced considering the price, disappointing
This is a perfect way to store up to four pairs of skis and poles. Took less than a minute to assemble and keeps the skis out of the way of any other sports gear. Also, you can move it off-season to another part of your garage so it's not in your way.
Well made. Does exactly what it is supposed to do, hold skis.
My powder ski rack arrived quicker than expected. Assembly was a snap and my wider powder boards fit perfectly and are very stable in the rack. Price was right and I will look to StoreYourBoard for future needs.
Got just what I was expecting. High quality and simple to put together. I purchased a skateboard rack previously both have exceeded expectations.
Sorry, but skis are not snug and therefore not stable. There is just enough sway that the skis could cause the rack to tip or at least hit the wall that I had placed next to. Skis that I tried were the Volkl Mantra 118 at tail, the Fischer Watea 118 at tail, and the Fischer Watea 107 at tail.
Have to admit the rack was quick to set up.
Nice and sturdy for our big boards; easy set up too!
The rack was completely assembled and ready to use. I had my 4 sets of skis in the rack minutes after it was delivered. There is so much room in the slots my poles fit in the rack too!
Best rack ever. Snow drains on floor and easy in and out and very stable.
Great ski and snowboard rack that does not cause damage to walls etc...removable for bike season :o)_
It took longer opening the box then assembly. Skis fit great and no hassle mounting on a wall.
We are short on storage space and needed to store two pairs of powder skis and two pairs of regular skis without damaging our old plaster walls. This rack is perfect for our needs! It is just the right size-- big enough for the skis without being bulky. The skis are well supported by the rack if you use a band around the top of the ski.
I'd add that the customer service was great as well. I'm already shopping at StoreYourBoard for my next gear storage solution.
I have been working on organizing a room I call our sports room. In the past I had a ski rack that hung on the wall. It seemed the skis always ended up leaned up against the wall instead of hanging. I believe that this free standing ski rack will help with the chaos. It is heavy duty plastic and very stable.
Fits our wide powder skis great. We want to purchase a regular one for our all terrain skinner skis as well.
The Free Standing Powder Ski Racks is as described. It came well packed with fast shipping. Thanks
Great product! Sure beats standing them up against the wall in a home-made rack.
