Product Description

The Floating Snowboard Deck Mount is one-of-a-kind in the world of snowboard storage and display. With this rack, your board will appear to float off the wall as the rack's hardware will be completely hidden behind your board. This rack turns your board art into wall art. Your snowboard is a masterpiece of engineering and artistic design, so get it up off the floor and on display!

Made from laser-cut aluminum, stainless steel hardware, and composite Nylon spacers, this rack is incredibly strong and built to last a lifetime. This Snowboard Deck Mount rack is an engineered product designed with tight tolerances to ensure a proper fit and an ease of use. We've even gone the extra mile to make this rack out of laser-cut and polished aluminum to provide a beautiful finish for when your board is not in use.

The Floating Snowboard Deck Mount works by utilizing your snowboard's threaded binding inserts. These are the holes on your board that you would normally use to screw your bindings into. Your binding inserts are an ideal location to use for mounting due to their built-in strength. Snowboards are designed to take tremendous stress and weight through the bindings, so you can feel 100% confident that this rack will stand the test of time and will not damage your favorite toy. Additionally, by using the binding inserts, the rack can be fit into a small footprint on your wall which allows it to be completely hidden behind your board. This is a key feature in making your board appear to float off the wall!

One of the best features about this rack is how easy it is to install. The rack can be mounted on a single stud, so you no longer have to deal with drywall anchors, measuring distances between rack arms, and all the other annoyances that come along with separate mounting arms. Awesome! If stud mounting is not an option for you, you may choose to include drywall anchors.

What makes this rack so special?
This rack is special because of its unique design. Here at StoreYourBoard, we've seen nearly every type of snowboard rack that has been made and we can honestly say there is nothing else like this. We've seen plenty of traditional "arm" style racks, hanging strap racks, magnetic racks, and racks that pinch your board in place, but nothing looks and functions the way this rack does. Specifically, almost all the other "snowboard display" racks out there show off the top sheet of your snowboard. While this is certainly cool, the main (and often better) graphic exists on the bottom sheet of your snowboard. This rack is great because it is a museum-quality way to show off your board's bottom deck art!

Please note:
this rack will only fit snowboard with the traditional 2x2 or 4x4 style mounting inserts and Burton 3D inserts (see image below). Burton's Channel WILL NOT work. A Burton Channel version is coming shortly, so hang tight! Also, if it is not obvious, this rack does NOT work with a board with its bindings on. You will need to remove your board's bindings to use this rack. This makes this rack better suited for use in the offseason, for retired boards, or for special art boards.

Hey! This is Josh from StoreYourBoard.com, here today to talk to you about the Floating Snowboard Deck Display. Here it is behind me and here are the pieces right in front of me. First, I want to start out with this is only for displaying the back of the board with no bindings on, so you could only have the back of the board showing. You have to take your bindings off because the way we mount it is you use the screws, the screw in-sets in the board where the bindings go. So if you want to mount it with your bindings on, with the front side facing out, check out the Cinch, the StoreYourBoard Cinch Snowboard Rack or the Naked Snow. Both of those work. The Cinch is pretty good for vertical and Naked Snow will do horizontal. If you need that, check that out.

But now back to the Floating Snowboard Deck Display, so here it is. It looks awesome. It looks like it’s floating there on the wall and basically turns your board into artwork. What it is this is what it is right here. It comes with two stainless steel plates, one that’s the back plate and one that has the cutouts in it, that’s the front plate. It has four of these bolts. Those are actually what screws into your binding holes, two drywall anchors, two bumpers, two spacers, and then two screws. That’s all it is in the kit, very compact. It comes in a kit like this. We pull this one off real quick, so that’s it on the wall right like that, and then you put the bolts into your snowboard bindings right on the wall like that. Perfect.

I’m going to show you on this board then real quick kind of how it goes together. Like I said, these bolts go into the bindings, so you want to put for the top ones, you just take them in, screw them right in like that, no problem. Then for the bottom you do the same, and on the bottom ones, you take these little black covers and you put it on the head of the bolt and what that does is it’s going to protect your wall on the bottom. You got those in your snowboard. Now you got to be worried about how you’re going to get this on the wall. The back plate goes first. The spacers go in between. Then the front plate goes on top.

What you need to do is you need to measure on your wall these two screws right here. This is what you need to place on your wall, so right here you got two screws, predrilled but I’m going to go like that and then the snowboard is going to hang down. When you measure, you want to figure out where on the board your holes are and then kind of how high up and down the wall you want it to be, so we have that.

What I usually like to do is I have a power drill. You can drill with that or a regular screwdriver, so you have your back plate. You got your spacers. Then you got your front plate. I put the screws through the front plate right like that. Turn them over. Hold them with my fingers. Put the nylon spacers right in between and then go ahead and put the back plate on. What that does is form that sandwich right there. That’s what you’re looking for. The bolts are going to then slide into there and hold their snowboards. You have the sandwich.

Then you go over to your wall where your holes are. We do include drywall anchors. The set is all wood, so just go right in but we do include these drywall anchors if you need them as well. I’m just going to put these into the wall. I usually like to start it like that, then go ahead and slide the plates back and then tighten it up. There it is right there. It’s on. It’s super sturdy. No problems. Then with the snowboard that you already have the bolts in, once again you just put them in the insets for the binding, so you have the bolts in the one end, you have the bolts in the other, and you put our black caps on to protect your wall. That’s going to be in the bottom, so you go ahead. Line it up with the keyholes, slide it down, and there you are. Beautiful snowboard display. I love the way I can display my snowboard collection with this display, the only problem I have with it is that it is so simple I feel the value isn't that great for what you are getting. Two pieces of metal plating, 4 bolts, 2 screws, and two dry wall anchors. That is my only complaint is that you are spending $15, for nothing, price should really be lower. I love them and need to buy some more, so I will be back.

Awesome snowboard mount. This is the first snowboard mount I could find that shows off the bottom side of my snowboard. It looks really cool on the wall because you can't see what is holding it up. Nice effect!

After receiving the product with prompt delivery, the instructions within the product is unclear how it can be used.

Furthermore, the website does not indicate the need for 2 of these products to mount the board horizontally.

Q:
How many mounting sets come with the floating snowboard kit? Do you get one mount or two (so you can mount both binding areas? I have two boards I want to mount; do I need just two sets (one for each board) or four sets (two for each board?)

A:
Our floating wall mount is a complete unit to hang one snowboard. If you are hanging 2 boards, you would order a total of 2.

Q:
Can this system hang boards horizontally? Or only vertically as pictured?

A:
Yes you can use it horizontally. To do so you need to order 2 kits for each snowboard you want to display. You mount one on each side of the snowboard (right where your left and right bindings would go).

Q:
Could it be used with a Burton that has "The Channel"?

A:
Our floating snowboard mount does not work for the Burton Channel. We hope to have one out soon that does, but right now, the floating mount is only available to fit either traditional mounting inserts or Burton 3D inserts. Please check back soon if you are interested in the Burton Channel model, or contact us if you wish to be notified when that version can be ordered!

Q:
Could this rack be used to mount a wakeboard? If not do you have any vertical mounts for wakeboard?

A:
Our Snowboard Floating Display Mount will not work for your wakeboard. We don't have a vertical wall mount for wakeboards; you can see our mount assortment for a single wakeboard here; the only vertical option is a freestanding one.

Q:
The board I want to mount does not have binders as it has never been used. I want to mount it because it is a piece of artwork for me, designed by an incredible artist. Will this mount work for my purpose? If not, do you have a suggestion of how to mount a snowboard that does not have binders.

A:
We understand wanting to display a board's deck, that is a work of art! To be clear - your art snowboard deck has no insert-holes at all, where one normally would attach the bindings? You don't need the bindings in there - just the insert holes, for where you normally attach them. If it has those insert holes, this mount would work for you if the pattern of the holes is like either of the 2 patterns shown on our listing for this item. If as you say it has no insert *holes* whatsoever, and is just a deck - then the Cinch Mount is an option you could try, or the Hangtime Mount, as either of those would display your deck without using the binding insert holes for mounting.
