This is our top of the line, outdoor kayak and SUP storage rack, with a twist; it mounts over the water, secured to your dock. Made of stainless steel and customizable with straight and angled arms to fit your configuration of kayaks and paddleboards, this rack is made for outdoor use and meant to stand up to serious outdoor exposure. The heck with carrying your paddleboards and kayaks to the water every time you want to use them. Get this rack and leave them at the water's edge. Customize it to fit up to 5 paddleboards, up to 4 kayaks, or a mix of both.
Made of Stainless Steel. To be more precise, this rack is constructed from 1-1/2” diameter, 304 marine grade mirror polished stainless steel tubing with 356 anodized aluminum connection joints. This is heavy duty stuff that is built to withstand outdoor exposure for many years. We know docks, decks, and other outdoor spaces suited for this rack get hit with nasty weather, and this rack is built to withstand that while storing your paddleboards and kayaks safely and securely. If you're going to leave your gear out on your dock, check out this SUP lock or kayak lock for theft protection.
How is it secured to the ground? This rack is made to be bolted your dock using included mounting hardware. The rack sits off your dock over the water to save you precious dock space. Here is a different version of this rack that sits entirely on your dock.
How many kayaks and SUPs can it hold? Holds up to 5 paddleboards, 4 kayaks, or a mix of both. Select your mix of straight and angled rack arms to fit your kayaks and SUPs.
Rack Arms: Made of stainless steel and include stainless steel installation fasteners. All arms come as pairs, as a set of 2. Each arm's tip has a tie down point to use to secure your kayaks or SUPs (tie downs not included). UV resistant foam padding covers the arms to protect your kayaks and SUPs when racking and unracking. Note that the base of the rack serves as 1 straight storage arm.

How far apart are the legs?
For our over-the-water mounted dock rack, you can set the legs for either side as far apart, or as near, as needed, to support the length of the boards & boats you will be storing on the rack! So if most of your boats/boards are very long, you would set the side legs farther apart, to evenly distribute the weight of your watercraft on them. You basically want about one-third to one-half of the length of the watercraft between the two legs, but it doesn't have to be exact, and can work with the space where you are setting it up. So, if most of your boards/boats are 12 feet long, you would set the legs anywhere from 4-6 feet apart. If you have some shorter boards/boats, you would bring the legs nearer to each other, to make sure everything would fit on the arms.
How far onto the dock does the bottom support arm extend?
The SUP & Kayak dock rack system's base is going to take up about a bit over 10" on top of the dock. On this listing under "Helpful Items," you can find a document with comprehensive dimensions for the system, as well as the installation manual, if that helps know how it would work with your particular dock/space.
If I had two kayaks at the bottom, how high would 2nd kayak be from where the rack it mounted on the deck?
For this over-the-water dock system, the attachment points where you can place the board or boat arms into are spaced every 2" up the pole (there are 28 slots total). So if you put one kayak on the included base level, look at how thick/deep your kayak is for an idea of how much room it will take up on the bottom level, to start with. Then given the attachment points are every 2", you will then have an idea of where that second level could go -- if the kayak was 13" deep/thick, say, the next point that could work for setting arms would be about 14" above the base, but that probably would be too close to the first kayak, so maybe the 16" slot would work for the second level. There is room to play there to see what works for your particular gear, since there are so many attachment points.
Robust stainless steel construction. The unique design allowed the rack to be attached to a floating dock and preserve our limited dock space.
Very strong tubular stainless steel racks. Not difficult to install although I had to modify my doc because the side is only 6” wide. Problem was remedied by attaching 2x8” board to side of my dock so the rack could be mounted. Very sturdy. I’m very happy with this purchase
The new rack we ordered from you came quickly, and my handyman said it was easy to assemble as well as of high quality. It’s good looking and we are very happy with the product!
Excellent design and very sturdy.
I couldn't believe it when I finished installing this product to my dock! The design is ingenious and the engineering is nearly flawless. I was a little worried about the strength and look before I bought it, but after the installation, all that was unnecessary. It actually looks better than those expensive SUP board racks installed on the docks of our neighbors, which caused a fortune (over $12K) to get them installed. And it is stainless steel, which matches the other hardware on my dock, and it is always preferred than aluminium. The installation was super easy, and it took us less than 30 minutes altogether, and we didn't have to jump to the water to do anything at all.
I recently purchased the SS SUP Dock Rack. It arrived much quicker than I had anticipated which was great. There was no assembly of the unit required prior to installation. It installed in less than an hour. I did have to source longer Stainless Screws locally as the ones that came with it were not long enough to go through the plate, composite deck and sub-frame. All and all a perfect solution. As one can see I am sure my neighbor will be asking me where I found this system ;)
