Product Description

Have a truck? Have a SUP? Want to just throw you SUP in the bed to transport it? If so, this is exactly what you need in order to keep your SUP safe while carrying it in your truck bed. The Stand Up Paddleboard Truck Tailgate Pad is an easy and affordable way to strap down your SUP and keep it from getting dented. The tailgate pad comes with buckles and quick adjusting straps which makes it nearly universal and simple to install.

This SUP Tailgate Pad does two things. First, it provides a layer of padding between your truck's tailgate and your paddleboard. Second, it provides a secure way to strap down your board during travel. It's a simple little device with huge utility. As a bonus, each pad comes with a storage pocket that contains a red signal flag that you can attach for extra safety.

The tie down strap on this Tailgate Pad is 82” long, which could potentially hold two smaller surfboards or SUPs, depending on the width of your boards.

  • 24" long pad (across your tailgate)
  • 82" long tie-down straps

Straps could be a little longer to fit most newer model trucks. But it was easy to extend them.

Only thing I don't like are the snaps on the straps. I have to take snaps out from under cover and then snap to lock

Q:
Can this be used at 65 mph? Is it safe for a trip that is 200+miles? My sup is 11feet 6inches and my truck bed is 6 feet.

A:
With an 11'6" foot long SUP in a 6 foot long truck bed, you will have about half your board or more sticking out the bed when using thisTruck Tailgate Pad/Strap, so you would need to exercise caution using this for long distances (where you may encounter many types of road conditions, etc.) and highway travel. It includes a red safety signal flag that you can use for the load. It will hold your board in securely and padded, but depending on road conditions, etc., you may need to drive with extra precaution... and how comfortable that feels to a user is going to vary, since that is a pretty big board sticking out of your trunk; but otherwise its an economical way to transport your board in a truck.

Q:
Will this fit on a 2016 Ford F-150 truck tailgate?

A:
Unfortunately, there is no fit guide available from the manufacturer of this tailgate strap/pad system, so we can't guarantee it will work for your particular Ford. The manufacturer only states "it fits most trucks," and I don't have any better guideline to offer you. It really should fit most trucks, but we do have a 90 day hassle-free return policy if you want to proceed with an order and see if it will work for you.

Q:
Can I transport 2 SUPs; one on top of the other or will I need to buy 2 of these and transport them side by side. I'll be transporting them in a Toyota Tacoma; 6' bed

A:
Our Tailgate Pad can hold a couple of smaller boards together - so it really will depend on the size (of your SUPS. The straps are 82" long so that is what will go around the board(s). I am not sure how well two would work side-by-side, but one could try that as an alternative.
