Product Description

sup-wheels-small.jpgThis is the premier SUP hand dolly and bike trailer. Built to last in the harsh salt water and sand environment, we feel confident the SUP Wheels will meet your expectations. It comes with a 1 year limited warranty from the manufacturer, but you can expect it to last much, much longer than that.

Stand up paddleboards are heavy and one of the biggest pains is getting your board to and from the water. The SUP Wheels make it so much more convenient and enjoyable getting to your favorite paddle spot. The SUP Wheels have two 13.5 inch hard rubber wheels that will never go flat and can easily hop over curbs, steps, and more. Designed to be pushed or pulled, you can easily manuever your heavy SUP over sand, grass, and pavement.

This version of these SUP Wheels comes with a mesh netting that allows you to hook in up to two paddles. This feature also includes a strap which allows you to carry all of your core SUP gear with just one hand! If you want completely hands-free transportation, then simply hook the tow handle around your bike seat. This will allow you to effortlessly tow your SUP board and paddle behind you to the beach or lake!

If you don't have a need for the towing handle and simply want to tow your board by hand instead, check out the Classic version of the SUP Wheels. The Classic version does not come with the aforementioned mesh netting.

With a 15" wide frame you can transport nearly any SUP out on the market today. In fact, in many cases - only if you're towing your boards by hand - you may be able to fit two stand-up paddleboards on one SUP Wheels! This is perfect if you need to carry your kid's, friend's, or significant other's board too. It is only possible to tow one paddleboard by bike!

  • Diameter of wheels:  13.5 inches
  • Thickness of the wheel/tire:  1.75 inches
  • Hard rubber wheels - never go flat
  • 28" wide frame - works for SUPs that are taper down to 15" wide at the tail (the whole tail doesn't need to fit in the frame).
  • Works for boards up to 14' long

Love the SUP Bike Trailer!

I bought my SUP trailer as a birthday gift for myself this past August. I love it! Seems like it was a novelty in Atlantic Beach as I received lots of "thumbs up" and comments as I rode by. Once I adjusted the "nose net" and center strap for my board it was simple to hook on the seat. I was a little nervous pulling it the first time but it stayed center back and really felt light on the bike. I've used a couple of bungee cords to strap on towels and a chair. I highly recommend!

I bought this for my daughter's birthday and she received it in a very timely manner, and hooked it up and sent photos of her riding her bike with the board on it.

I purchased the bike trailer to tow my long board. I have about a 2 mile ride to my favorite surf spot. The trailer is able to easily handle the distance. I am still in the process of learning how to mount the board in a quick and easy manner. I like the fact that it stores easily and takes up a small amount of space when not in use.

So I fashioned a hook on my golf cart… and now I just hang it off the back of my golf cart and off to the beach I go. It works great and goes over all sorts of surfaces very easily.

I'm so glad someone came up with this easy way to get a paddleboard to the water without needing a car. The design, storage and ease of use are all excellent! It took me awhile to figure out how to attach the netting to see the wheels as there were no instructions on that. I had to contact the manufacturer who instructed me and gave me a link to a quick video. Once I figured it out, it was a piece of cake! I like that you can store the wheels flat and take them with you while paddling!

Q:
Can the bike trailer be unhooked, so that you can just wheel the board without the bike? I wanted to see if it had both options or only could be used on the bike.

A:
Yes, this SUP trailer can be used to tow your stand-up paddle board by hand or by your bike!

Q:
What exactly is the difference between the Classic SUP Wheels and SUP Wheels Evolution carrier?

A:
The SUP Wheels Evolution (Premium) has a mesh handle/tow strap that provides more functions.

With the Classic version, you tow the board using your hand only, directly holding onto your board while towing it, and you are not able to attach it to your bike seat, to use it as a bike trailer.

With the Evolution's mesh handle/tow strap, you can use the handle/tow strap to hold onto as you tow your board, plus you can hook in paddles, and you can also attach the strap to your bike seat, if you want to tow your board that way, making it a bike trailer.

Q:
Can I use the SUP Wheels behind a motorcycle?

A:
Our SUP bike trailer is not meant to be used with a motorcycle, and we really don't have a recommendation currently for a SUP carrier you can use with a motorcycle.

Q:
Does this work with inflatable SUPs?

A:
Yes, this SUP trailer works for most inflatable SUPs, as long as the inflatable SUP has a tapered end. The board needs to taper down to about 15 inches (38 cm) wide to fit in the wheel frame that holds the end of the board, and be less than 6" inches thick at the end.

Q:
Do you think this could tow a trombone case?

A:
Our SUP wheels bike trailer really couldn't be recommended for a use other than transporting a board. Its specifically designed for the tail of the SUP to fit in and be secured to the wheel frame, then the nose of the board lies in a mesh webbing that attaches to the bike's seat. Any other use would not be recommended, even if you could figure out a way to secure your trombone case in that set-up, and it most likely wouldn't fit right or securely as it is.

Q:
How do I attach the carrier to the bike seat?

A:
Our SUP Bike Trailer includes a strap handle that connects with a webbing strap under the board. You hold the handle to pull the board to move it, or your can use it with your bike seat as follows:

Take the handle and twist it to create a loop. Take that loop and put just to the front of the bike seat and allow the strap part of the handle to criss-cross over the bike seat. Keep the nose of the board close to the front edge of the mesh hammock (close to the handle) -- this keeps the board away from the wheels.

Q:
My SUP is 36 inches wide and 11ft long, will these dimensions be compatible?

A:
At 36" wide and 11' feet long, your board is a bit to big to fit into this bike trailer. We don't have a good alternative to suggest for safely transporting a SUP that size with a bike.

Q:
How do you adjust the carrier for different board lengths?

A:
This SUP trailer for a bike works by placing the tail of your board in the wheels, then you attach the mesh handle strap to the nose of your board, and to your bike seat, so you really don't need to adjust it for different sized boards, it is set up to tow the board as attached to wheels and bike seat.

Q:
My board is 10'6" long and 32" wide. Will this product work?

A:
Our SUP wheels will fit a board that tapers down to 15" wide at its tail. So that is where you need to look at how wide your board is - the whole tail doesn't need to fit in the trame, but it needs to taper down to that amount at its end. The length of your board is fine - it works for boards up to 14' long.

Q:
Is there any reason that this wouldn't work with a 10-0 longboard in a travel bag?

A:
Our bike trailer will work for a 10' longboard. However, it isn't designed to work for a board in a bag - it might be possible, but we couldn't guarantee it would work, or work properly. You need to attach the mesh handle strap to the board and your seat, and how well that can or may work with your board in a bag is a question-mark. We could not guarantee it would work that way.

Q:
My board is light and has really thin resin exterior. It seems it would crack in half if it hit a bump, especially laying flat. Does this have any sort of support beneath near the middle?

A:
Ourbike trailer for SUPsdoesn't have any additional support/padding to it. There is a bungee holding the SUP into the wheeled cart-frame, and then a mesh system that attaches under your bike seat. The SUP will be at an angle to the seat, as seen in the pictures and shown in use in the video. Taking corners, if your board is particularly long, and bad road conditions, are definitely things to consider, for how well this would work for the board you want to transport. The trailer does have good tires, which helps, and works for a lot of different board types - but we can't guarantee how well it will work for yours.

Q:
What's the maximum speed, and weight it can handle?

A:
The manufacturer ofSUP wheelsdoes not specify a weight capacity for this system, only how long of a board, and what how wide it can be at tail where it sits in the carrier. It would work for most boards that can fit into that wheeled cart. If your board is particularly heavy, it will just be heavier to tow by bicycle. There aren't really any recommendations on speed, other than common sense - however, towing a big board by bicycle is something to use caution with, especially around corners or on road conditions that are less than perfect. Its really best for shorter bike rides to get your board to a nearby beach; for longer rides, you might want to test it out some first to see how it feels with your board and bike.

Q:
Will it work for a long surfboard. About 9-11 feet?

A:
Yes, our bike trailer works for longboards as well! It will work to tow a board up to 14' long on your bike.

Q:
Is it possible to transport 2 paddleboards by bike with this carrier?

A:
No, this particular SUP bike trailer can only pull one SUP at a time. This bike trailer does work for multiple SUPs - it can hold a couple of boards as long as you don't exceed the weight maximum of 100 lbs.

Q:
Can you use this with a kayak?

A:
No, thisSurfboard/SUP bike traileris not suited or manufactured for towing kayaks. The only bike trailer we have available that can work for a kayak is the one see here: https://www.storeyourboard.com/kayak-trailer-for-bikes-tow-your-boat/, which can tow one kayak(but also works for surfboards & SUPs).

Q:
My board is 32 inches wide 11.5 ft long and 14 inches wide just below the fin. Will this wagon work?

A:
Our specifications for this SUP bike trailer system show that it *should* work for your board. If the board tapers to no more than 15" at its tail, it should fit in the wheel frame that it will be attached to at that end. The length is also not showing as a problem, as it works for boards up to 14 feet long. So I think it should work for your SUP.

Q:
I ride down a significant, curved hill on my way to the beach. Should I be concerned about the board nose diving into the seat/seat post or fish tailing at (moderate) downhill speed? I'd be pulling a 10'6" board, which is well over twice my size :)

A:
I personally would be concerned about peddling down the hill you described, while towing a big board. Our SUP Wheels works best over easier terrain/roads. Taking normal corners can sometimes be tricky, as it is, or at least takes getting used to at first. The system tows a board well, and securely, under normal conditions -- but going down a steep, curving road is enough of a question-mark, I would not recommend it.

Q:
Do you have a product similar to you sup wheeled carts that can collapse and fit in the board bag or luggage?

A:
We really don't have a product similar to SUP wheels, the evolution version of which operates as either a bike trailer or a hand cart for your board, that will break down more. Though while it won't fit in a board bag, it could possibly fit in some luggage. If you aren't specifically looking for a trailer to haul your board behind a bike, this SUP dolly (which should be use to hand tow a board) does fold down for storage; it might still be a bit bulky in luggage.
