Did you know that stand up paddleboards are now classified the same as other water vessels by the U.S. Coast Guard? This new classification means that SUP users are required to carry a lifejacket or personal floatation device (PFD) with them when outside of "surf" or "swim" zones. This Paddleboard Life Jacket is the perfect solution to keep you both safe and legal while out on the water. The Paddleboard Life Jacket is a Coast Guard Approved (CGA) Type II floatation device that provides at a minimum of 15.5lbs of buoyancy. What this all means is that this life vest is certified to keep you safe in calm waters and keeps you legal in the eyes of the Coast Guard.
What makes this PFD so great for your SUP is that is comes in a waterproof insert bag that can be attached to the nose or rear of your SUP. The bag has integrated suction cups that will keep your PFD securely fastened to your paddleboard and out of the way. This allows you to paddle with peace of mind in terms of safety and legality. Another great feature about the PFD bag is that is has a built in whistle and straps. The straps allow you to wear the bag and PFD as a backpack. This is a great because it gives you an alternative to suction cupping it to your board and also makes it easier to carry around when you're off the water too.
Stay legal and stay safe! Pick up Paddleboard Life Jacket today! If this style PFD is too big and you don't want it occupying precious space on your SUP, then check out our SUP Belt PFD which is super minimalistic and can be worn like a belt.

Luckily I haven't had to use this yet, but it is nice knowing it is suction cupped to the front of my board if I need it! Nice bag, too, and I can carry a snack and my dry bag in it too.
So happy I got this!!! I am a good paddler and can swim so I don't really need this but I heard it was required by law. Well the local park rangers were out this weekend giving tickets to people who did not have life vests with them on their SUPs. Thanks goodness I had mine!
