Product Description

The SUP Sock is an easy and affordable way to protect your paddleboard from the dents, dings, and scratches it may subject to during transportation or storage. The SUP sock is a slip-on style paddleboard cover that has a drawstring closure which makes it quick and simple to use. The SUP sock is constructed from a thick, stretchable Polyester material that provides a rugged and UV resistant outer barrier for your board. Integrated into the nose of the sock is a protective nose piece that helps cushion your nose from damage.

We definitely recommend some type of cover for your SUP whether it be this SUP sock or a full travel bag. This SUP sock is a great lightweight and affordable way to protect your board as you maneuver out of your house or off your car rack and to the water. We offer this sock in two sizes: large and x-large. The x-large size can hold boards up to 14ft long, so it is designed to carry massive touring and race boards comfortably.

  • Large size holds boards up to 11'6"
  • X-Large size holds boards up to 14'
  • (1) SUP sock
Q:
My board is 9'9" and 35"wide will it fit that width?

A:
This SUP sock is very stretchy and comes in two sizes, large and extra large. For your board, thelargesize should work fine - it fits boards up to 11'6", and the width of your board should not be a problem.

Q:
I need a sock to keep in my car for transport of the board. I have a SUP 9’4” x 4.2” x 30.5” and just need something to easily slip it into after a session without getting sand and water into my car. Which of the two socks shown—the fleece vs the regular sock -- is easier to use? It will not be going on the roof of a car.

A:
There really isn't much of a difference in ease of use for either of the socks. They are going to be similar in use, the fleece one or this sock, so it is going to come down to a person's personal preference. For trying to keep sand and water out of your car, a SUP bag might work better in that regard.

Q:
How much sun protection does the Sup sock offer? Would it be safe to leave on top of car when staying at a hotel for the weekend with no place to store it?

A:
The SUP sock has enough sun protection that it would do a pretty good job of protecting your board overall, and should be fine for the weekend storage you described. In really super intense sun, maybe a little bit will get through. If you are very concerned about sun exposure a day bag will provide more protection for your board, as it has a foil-like protective layer of UV reflective tarpee. Its a more expensive option than a sock, but it will also provide additional padding for your board.

Q:
If my board is 11'6" should I get the size above or will the whole thing fits?

A:
Our large SUP Sock will hold a board up to 11'6", but if your board is particularly thick and/or wide, the extra room on the XL might come in handy, so the XL might potentially be a better fit.

Q:
I have an inflatable sup... 12'6" long... Will this bag fit?

A:
The SUP sock would not be recommended for an inflatable SUP. For an inflatable, we would recommend this cover, which is available in a 12'6 size.

Q:
I have a race SUP (14' long, 25" wide). Will this board sock fit?

A:
The XL size of our SUP Sock will fit a board up to 14 feet, and at 25" wide, your board should fit fine. An alternative is this Fleece Sock's 14' size, as that one is shaped for race SUPs, so the sock's nose is pointier.

Q:
Will the large work for my 11.2' x 40" x 6" sup?

A:
The large size of this SUP sock technically fits a board up to 11'6" inches - but given that your SUP is fairly wide (40") and has thick rails (6"), I would be inclined to recommend the XL size, that fits larger boards. The SUP socks are stretchy, but sometimes very wide and/or thick boards can make exact sizing harder to recommend. The manufacturer doesn't list width/thickness specifications, so that is also hard to judge. The XL would give you a little more room to work with; but with your board being 40" wide, we can't guarantee either version as a perfect fit. We do have a 90 day hassle-free return policy, should you want to see for yourself.

Q:
Is there a slit for the fin?

A:
Our SUP sock does not have a fin slit; some of our travel bags do, but none of the socks we offer do.

Q:
I own a Laird Bully SUP with dimensions 12'6" by 36" wide and 4 1/2" thick. Will the sock you offer cover this size board?

A:
At 36" wide and 4.5" thick, your board would not fit well into any of our socks, as they won't stretch to properly cover that width/thickness.

Q:
I plan to store a wooden board outdoors on my dock in summer. I need UV protection, but also don't want it to stay wet. Will this hold water or repel it?

A:
This SUP sock will provide some protection for your board from sunlight, as well as from debris, etc. However, it is not made out of a specifically water-resistant or repellent fabric or treated to be more waterproof. So for daily-continued use outdoors, it will not be guaranteed to keep your board dry, esp. depending on the climate of your area. If exposed to heavy rains, I wouldn't trust or guarantee it as a way to keep a wood board completely protected from water. The sock isn't going to waterlog in normal use, but use daily outdoors is hard to judge based on weather and conditions, especially since its not specifically designed to be completely waterproof/repellent. A day bag may give you better protection overall for that type of use, but they are not necessarily manufactured for continual use outdoors either, and their features vary by type.

Q:
I bought a sock elsewhere but it is not wide enough. How wide will this stretch?

A:
This is a stretchy sock, but it does not have specific specifications available from the manufacturer for how wide it will stretch. For very thick or wide SUPs, one sometimes does have the problem you encountered with that other sock you bought - they just don't quite cover the SUP. I don't have a good guideline to give you on where it might not work for your SUP. The best estimate I can give is if your SUP is much wider than 34" or much thicker than 4 or 5 inches, it may not be a good fit. That is an estimate, but I hope it gives you an idea.

Purchased the SUP sock for local boarding use. Have a more substantive cover for longer trips. Had to wrestle to get the sock onto my board - have a standing pad that made it difficult to slide the sock onto the board. Just abtad concerned about the slippery material of the sock. May have to purchase a strap to carry the board- almost dropped my gorgeous Paiwen bamboo board just putting it away.

I needed a cover that could protect the board in my garage while in a rack through the winter. This is perfect! The colors are great and the material is super soft. Highly recommended and really easy to slide onto the board.

The SUP Sock works perfectly over my 12'6" paddleboard. I hang my board alongside my kayak in my garage right next to my car. The SUP sock adds a little protection when I sometimes open my car door too hard or too fast and smack my paddle board. Also, living in Minnesota, I wanted something to cover my board with during the long months of winter in the garage. The SUP Sock is exactly what I needed.

I ordered 2 SUP socks but I only received one. I have already communicated with StoreYourBoard.com to have the other Sock shipped and hopefully that happens soon.
That said, I am already using the one that was delivered and it is fantastic. I love it. My boards are stored outdoors in a municipal storage area and the sock I have keeps one of the boards from being sun damaged and is big enough to store paddles and PFDs inside and also hide the locking mechanism to prevent thefts. One was already stolen and the socks, I believe will prevent another theft.

Perfect Fit

I was concerned about fit, as this particular board is a yoga board that is 34 " but only 10' in length--also a very big fin. I was told that I could try it and if it didn't work I could return with no questions asked. I really appreciated that. However, it is a perfect fit and I am even able to close with draw string. The flexible fabric made it much easier to roll on and stretch. Thanx!!

I bought the large cover for my 11'6" BIC ACE-TEC board and it fit perfectly. I was worried that it was going to be small since the large supposed to fit up to 11'6" boards. I like this cover and it gives protection from dust and grim while it is stored in the basement for the winter.

I have a massive board, 12 ft, very wide & thick. It is stored outside so I was looking for protection from the sun. This sock slides on easily & seems well constructed. So far I am very pleased with it. Also, the stripes are pretty wild.
