Product Description

Looking for a high-quality SUP wall rack built for the outdoors that will withstand the elements, like salt water? This paddleboard rack is a heavy-duty version of our popular indoor SUP rack - it is dipped in a galvanized finish to keep it rust free while retaining its strength and integrity and keeping your paddleboards secure. Because it is built for the outdoors, this SUP rack is a great fit on docks, piers, decks, boathouses or anywhere else that is exposed to harsh elements and needs an extra galvanized layer of protection from rust. Because the galvanized dip is a custom order, it may take approximately 3 weeks for this paddleboard rack to ship.

This SUP rack is made to both safely store your SUP and also display the deck or hull. This SUP wall rack provides convenient storage for two (2) SUPs in a compact design. This rack is angled at a 45 degree angle to accommodate deep fin clearance and also keep the board as close to the wall as possible. This rack has been specifically designed for SUP boards with extra clearance at the bend for the larger SUP rails. Don't just try to shove your SUP into a regular surfboard rack, get a rack designed to hold your SUP! This rack is also available in a 1 board version to accommodate your paddleboard quiver.

  • 21" tall along the wall
  • Arms extend 22.5" out from wall
  • 11" spacing between arms
  • 45 degree display angle

Q:
Can I use this rack to store SUPs (Stand Up Paddle Boards) in the vertical position?

A:
Yes! That is a great way to store a bunch of SUPs as long as you have the ceiling clearance. All you would do is mount the rack on its side and then put down a non slip pad or carpet for the boards to rest on. You can mount the two rack ends next to each other for storage of up to 4 SUP's from each rack purchased.

Q:
I am looking at this double rack for SUPs, does it come with one rack arm or a pair?

A:
This rack includes a pair of rack arms. One of the rack arms supports the tip of your SUPs and the other supports the tail of your SUPs. You can mount them at any distance apart from each other to accommodate any length SUP.

Q:
What is the angle of the arms on this rack?

A:
The arms of this SUP rack are each at a 45 degree angle.

Q:
Will this rack system fit a Sup-Atx 11'6" Journey Board and a Sup-Atx Adventure (Yoga) board - the two boards have these measurements:

Length: 11 feet 6 inches
Board Width: 32 inches
Nose Width: 20 inches
Tail Width: 15 inches
Board Thickness: 4.75 inches
Volume: 230 liters
Board Weight: 28 lbs

A:
The double on-rail SUP rack should work fine for your two boards, based on those measurements:

1) The length will not be an issue, as you can set up each arm side (right and left) as far apart as you need to accommodate the length of your boards.

2) At 4.75" thick, these boards should also fit fine - you also should not have a problem getting them in an out of the rack as there is 11 inches of room between rack levels. The rack hooks have have gap that is about 6" inches wide total, but you would want the thickness to be less than that total, so up to about 4.75" should be okay

3) At 32" wide, at their widest points, your SUPs would be fine on this rack. The arms are 22.5 inches long, at an upwards angle, but as long as about half of the board's width is resting on the arm, it should be fine, and where your SUPS will be resting on the arms will also be where they are slightly narrower than 32" (at opposite ends of the boards they are narrow then full width of board).

4) The weight of your boards should not be a problem (combined).

These are really rock solid board racks; it is a sturdy system. You will, as with all of our rack systems, need to make certain to properly mount them to the wall so they can perform to their maximum.

Q:
Can you hang them in walls that have the metal aluminum studs?

A:
You should be able to mount this double on-rail SUP rack into metal studs. You would need to pre-drill them, or get the self-drilling screws meant for metal. Should it be of assistance in planning, we have a basic how-to installation and spacing guide with other considerations for setting up your board rack.

Q:
I see some of your SUP racks are based on suspension supports and are marketing "zero pressure points" . Are there possible long term damage issues to mu SUP's with the Gatekeeper racks resulting from sitting in a rigid rack arm, even if they are padded?

A:
The Gatekeeper SUP rack shouldn't have any long term storage problems for your SUPs. They use a very high quality foam, and are a good option for your boards.

Q:
I have a Jimmy Lewis M-14 board that is 6.3" thick x 28' wide. I also have three other boards that are only about 4 - 4.5" thick. Would this rack be able to accommodate the 6.3" thick board?

A:
Our double SUP wall rack would hold your two smaller boards fine, and they would also fit in many of our other SUP wall racks as well (at 4 to 4.5 inches thick). The 6.3 inch board is going to be just a little too thick for this double rack (its gap where the board sits holds up to abut a 6 inch thick SUP). A better option for the board with thicker rails might be this: SUP rack with removable arms.

Q:
Can I mount this rack on a dock?

A:
Our double on-rail SUP racks can be mounted onto a dock, yes.

Q:
Is there a secure locking system for the double paddle board wall rack?

A:
We usually recommend dock SUP locks as a versatile locking system, which you could use with this double SUP rack. They attach with a special clamp to either your SUP's leash plug or fin box. One 10 foot cable comes with one of the jaw clamps to secure one board - but you can purchase additional jaw clamps as an option, to use the one cable to secure multiple boards at the same time. They work well for locking boards to racks and stationary objects.

Q:
Would this fit on a 2004 wrangler with the top off?

A:
This removable rack system would *not* be recommended for your Wrangler with its top off. It just would not secure the boards properly to it. If you don't have a roof rack on the auto, it would run the straps through four doorways and secure there, or you can use the clips to attach it to gutters and sills - but there would be several safety issues and the board would not necessarily be secured properly to the cross frame of the Wrangler with it's top off.
