Product Description

This stand up paddleboard rack is a very high-end product designed to wall mount SUPs in outdoor places like boat houses, docks, and piers. This is the wall mounted version of our very popular freestanding outdoor sup rack

The rack is made from King Starboard which is a specialty plastic designed for salt water (marine) applications. The King Starboard construction means these SUP racks can be left out in the sun and salt water for years without fading, warping, or corroding - they are zero maintenance. There are (4) pre-drilled holes in the corner of each rack that allow you to easily mount your rack to your dock or side of boat house. The rack includes stainless steel hardware. We've seen hundreds of SUP rack designs here at StoreYourBoard, so we can confidently say this is one of the very few racks designed specifically for long term outdoor use in salt water environments.

In addition to being completely weatherproof, this SUP rack has lots of other great features that make it so nice. For instance, each rack arm incorporates cut-outs for looping cable locks or dock locks through. With your racks permanently installed and your boards locked to the rack, you have a completely secure and lockable SUP storage system! For when you don't have your boards locked up, these racks have an integrated bungee cord. This bungee cord secures your SUP down and prevents it from flying away on those gusty days out on the water. Another great feature about this rack are the integrated paddle holders. The top rack arm has a U-shaped cutout that are perfect for cradling your paddles.

We offer this rack in two different colors and two different sizes to meet your SUP storage needs.

  • Height (1 board) = 15"
  • Height (2 boards) = 24"
  • Depth = 22.5"
  • Base width = 4"
  • Storage slot is 5.5" at top and tapers to 4.5" at bottom
  • Supports up to 45 lbs per level
  • Double board rack supports a total of 90 lbs

Q:
Could this rack work for holding your boards on top of your dock, not on a wall?
A:
No, but tere is a version of this rack for mounting on top of piers/docks, seen here.
Q:
What is the weight limit with this rack?
A:
The manufacturer of our SUP Wall Rack for Outdoors and Boathouses has rated this wall rack at 45 lbs per level, so the single board rack holds 45 lbs maximum, and the double board rack can hold up to 90 lbs.
Q:
Does this rack have like a foam pad to protect the board?
A:
Our SUP rack for docks & boat houses does not have padding; it is made from a very smooth material, so as long as the SUP is inserted with care it is fine without a foam pad. It is preferable to not have a foam pad outside because it just degrades and fades quickly.

Alternately, another option to consider is a suspension SUP rack, which cradles the board in a suspension system; those can be used outdoors, but are not available in a marine grade version.
Q:
Can this bracket be mounted on brick wall?
A:
Our SUP wall rack for docks/boathouses could be mounted to a brick wall, but you would need to purchase brick/masonry anchors to do so, from anywhere that you buy hardware (Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.), as it ships with stainless steel hardware for standard mounting, but not for mounting to a brick or concrete.
Q:
I live near the ocean, so that even though I would be mounting the rack on the inside of my garage, I want it to be "salt resistant". My question is: How far apart are the holes to mount the rack? I want to mount mine on vertical 2x4 studs, and from the picture, it appears that the holes are further apart than a stud thickness, (the narrow edge of the stud)
A:
Yes, even in a garage in an area on or near salt water/air, you do need to think about whether a storage rack is suited for that environment, as not all can withstand it and will be subject to corroding quickly. So this SUP wall made out of marine grade Buckwood is a really good choice.

As to your question on the mounting holes - the rack has a 4 inch back piece that attaches to the wall. It consists of two separate arms so you can set it at what ever distance required. So when mounting, you would be attaching the 4 inch wall piece to your studs. The mounting holes are a bit different then some racks, in that they are near the 4 corners of the base plate - so you choose one side of the base plate to attach to the stud (using the mounting holes on one side of each wall piece). If needed, you can add a third hole in the center of that side, to secure it additionally.
