Product Description

Not everyone rides behind a wakeboard boat. Whether you wakeboard, water ski, or kneeboard, you know that storage racks for fishing boats are pretty much non-existent. Fortunately, this wakeboard rack provides a solution!

This wakeboard rack is designed to slip right into your rod holder without tools or any setup! You can take it in and out of your boat as you need or even switch to the other side of your boat. Once installed, you can rotate the two arms to create storage spaces parallel with the side of your boat. The rack arms should be spaced approximately 2 to 4 feet apart on your boat to ensure best rack stability.

Will this rack fit my boat's rod holders? The rack is available in 2 options: (i) to fit 15 degree flush mounted rod holders or (ii) to fit 30 degree flush mounted rod holders. The relevant angle is not how the rod holders sit on the gunnel, but top to bottom. Don't know what angle your rod holders are? Download the Angle Meter App: For Android or iPhone Angle Meter App to determine the angle. The app is easy to use and the most reliable way to figure out the angle you need! The rack fits rod holders that are 8.5" or shorter. For rod holders with a depth between 8.5" and 10.5" our Rack Extension may be used. Contact us for help if your boat has longer rod holders or happens to have rod holders of different angles.

What are some features of this rack? The Wakeboard Rack for Fishing Boats has tons of awesome features. One of the best features is it is not just for wakeboards. This rack will hold wakeboards, wakesurf boards, wake skates, some kneeboards, and water skis. So basically it is good for just about any watersport possible. The rack will hold up to 2 wakeboards and 1 wakesurf/wake skate boards at once. Your boards are held securely in place with the integrated bungee cord. Another great feature about this rack is the built-in swivel mechanism. With just the pull of a pin, you can swivel the rack into the boat. This makes loading and unloading boards much easier, then you can swivel it back out to take up less room.

How sturdy is this rack? The Wakeboard Rack for Fishing Boats is ocean tested and approved. This rack will not only withstand the salt water and sun, but will also withstand choppy water and can take a beating.

Q:
Would a surfboard fit this rack?

A:
Our wakeboard rack for fishing boats will hold wakeboards, wakesurfs, skis, and kneeboards; it won't work for a surfboard, not even a shortboard surfboard. Most surfboards will be too thick for the forks, and the length is a problem as well.

Q:
What material the rack is made out of? Is it okay to use in salt water as well, or if it is best to only use in fresh water?

A:
Our Wakeboard Rack for Fishing Boats is made out of 3/4" Starboard - this is a marine grade plastic. It has stainless steel bolts, and is fine for use in saltwater areas.

Q:
I want to install a fishing rod holder -- what angle degree would be best for use with this wakeboard rack, the 15 degree or the 30 degree rod holders?

A:
The angle of the fishing rod holder, whether 15 or 30 degrees, is really one of personal preference. Both will work with this wakeboard rack. The thickness of the gunwale of your boat will play a role in determining which angle is best -- if your boat has a narrow gunwale then we would suggest a 15 degree rod holder, but your boat dealer or marina might be able to help determine what is best for your particular boat, if you aren't certain.

Q:
I'm having a new Concept 23 built primarily for transportation to/from kiting areas near my home. Since the boat is under construction I can specify any type of rod holders that I prefer, including 0 angle. In terms of strength, what is the preferred angle of the rack. Do you offer a 0 degree rack as well as 15 and 30?

A:
As far as fishing rod holders, neither degree is stronger for holding these wakeboard racks, so it really is your preference for other uses you may have for the rod holders. We mainly offer the 15 and 30 degree versions of these boat racks, but 0 degree can be special ordered, and takes slightly longer for delivery. You would need to contact us if need 0 degree, since we don't list them. The only other consideration I would want to draw to your attention is the length of the rod holder. These are designed to fit rod holders that are up to 8.5 inches in depth or shorter. There is an extension available by special order if one has longer rod holders, but only extends it a couple of inches I believe, and normally most rod holders are in that 8.5 inches or less range

Q:
Does this the rack connect to anything in the holder or is it just free floating in the rod holder?

A:
This wakeboard rack just slots into the fishing rod holders. The shape of the mount attached to the rod holder holds it in place. The rod holders need to be 15 or 30 degrees, and they should be reinforced quality, durable flush mount rod holders, for it to work safely and securely.

The answer to my needs!

Recently I had my first chance to check out the two kiteboard racks that I purchased for my newly delivered boat. I’ve gotta tell ya’, they were a hit, not only with me, but with my two fellow kiters that were onboard with me. The racks are well built, sturdy and the finish is of very high quality. With the two racks mounted on the stern in rod holders, the floor of my boat remains uncluttered and offers much more room for kite bags and kiters. I find them very convenient, especially since they are so easily removed and installed, which allows for an uncluttered appearance of the boat on days when I’m just out cruising the waterways. These racks are most definitely the answer to greatly reducing the floor clutter when heading out for some fun with my kites.

This is my second Wakeboard Rack for Fishing Boats. The first one was purchased in July 2016. They work great for wakeboards and full size skis. Not so great for jr. skis and kneeboards. One jr. ski will go in the center slot of each rack. The padding on our kneeboard is too thick for it to fit any slot.
Was surprised that the rod on this year's model is 2" longer than the model of last year. So this year's model does not fit flat on the gunwale but about 1" above it, however that doesn't seem to be a problem.

Solid product but use of is a little disappointing

This is a very well designed product and fits my 30 degree rod holders perfectly. I bought it for skis and a kneeboard. The disappointment is that it will only hold our full size skis. The junior skis won't fit nor will our kneeboard. The kneeboard is too thick but yet it is a standard kneeboard.
