This lightweight molded plastic rack is a great way to store your water skis. This water ski storage wall rack is very durable and can easily take the abuse of continued use. Good rack to store your skis when you can’t be on the water. Great for displaying and storing your water skis out of harm’s way. Put this rack up in the boat house, dock, garage, a closet, mud room, basement, or a bedroom.
Each order comes with 2 rack sides, 4 mounting screws, 4 drywall anchors, and instructions.
Please note: depending on the type and size of your bindings, you may not be able to fit 4 skis on this rack (2 pairs). For instance, this rack will not accomodate 3 double high wrap slamom boot skis. We recommend using the middle rack for a traditional ski or gear.
The rack is manufactured with 4 mounting slots on each rack side to give you flexibility in mounting. The rack has more than enough strength to hold your typical skateboards, snowboards, skis, sticks, and many more items with just two screws on each side.
Please remember this is an engineered product. It is constructed to hold the most weight in the downward direction, the way your gear will apply force to the rack. It is not as strong in the lateral (side to side) direction but it is more than sufficient.
We have tested it and have seen it hold well over 50lbs of gear using only 4 mounting locations (2 on each rack side). The important thing is to make sure those 4 screws are securely grabbing something sturdy. It is best to screw the rack into solid wood studs or a wooden mounting surface. As for which holes to use, we typically recommend using the inside mounting holes so that the rack has a cleaner appearance from the outside. When your boards are stacked in the racks you can't see any of the mounting screws.
Attached this rack to a pair of slotted aluminum bars and mounted them to the inner side rails of our Tri-toon with a 150 HP Merc. Great for keeping the deck free of skis; holds a combo pair and two slalom skis with no issues even in rough water. Oh, and yes, a Tri-toon with a 150 is plenty to pull a slalom skier!
Bough this to store some skies and kayak paddles and it basically does the job. Cons: the spacing between "shelves" is not high enough to clear the foot hold of the skis so I had to put one ski on it's side on the top rung in order to have the other ski flat on the rung below it; not a fan of the included drywall anchors and used my own since the ones provided just basically destroy the wall and don't hold. Overall I'm satisfied with this product and would recommend.
Easy to install and get's my skis off the floor.
Product is simple but highly functional. Very cost effective way to create storage on my tritoon pontoon boat. Water skis are a nightmare to store. For about 20 dollars my problem was solved; simply mounted the ski holders to the fence behind the driver'side seat. No history on durability, but looks to be sufficiently well made.
