The Naked Surf rack takes the minimalist approach when it comes to storing and displaying your board. The idea behind the Naked Surf is that your board is a work of art, so the rack shouldn't distract from its beauty. We like to say that the Naked Surf is "barely there" which means it covers as little of your board as possible while still securely holding your board in place. If you're looking for a lightweight, affordable, and non-intrusive way to show off your favorite board then the Naked Surf is an excellent option.
While aesthetically minimalistic, the Naked Surf does not sacrifice structural integrity. The Naked Surf rack arms are made from a single piece of Aluminum that have been custom cut and bent. Each rack arm has two pre-drilled holes that allow you to mount up to two screws in a single stud. The combination of all-Aluminum construction with the 2-screw mounting pattern makes the Naked Surf incredibly sturdy for its size and appropriate for shortboard or longboard use. Lining the inside of each rack arm is a thick piece of felt. This felt provides a soft place to rest your board and prevents any long term pressure point distortion on your board.
Two color options. The Naked Surf is offered in a sleek Matte black powder coat or an anodized silver. Even though the rack is mostly hidden when displaying your board, we have still gone the extra mile to make what little that does show look awesome.
Looking for the same minimalist design to store and display a SUP? Check out the Naked SUP Rack!
Have a board with a lot of rocker (maybe a performance longboard)? Consider that this rack extends 6.5" from the wall, meaning your surfboard could be forced to rest nearly vertical up and down to fit, or you may have to optimize how far apart the rack arms are mounted. For a rack with a similar design and look, but that extends further from the wall and easily accommodates more rocker, check out the Naked SUP Rack.
The Naked Surf is the best surfboard rack on the market today, period. We sell a wide variety of surf racks but overall this is the one I always recommend and the one that always gets the most positive feedback. Built from solid aluminum and wrapped in dense foam it is exactly what you need for a surfboard rack without any over the top frills. It feels solid becasue it is solid and will last you through many many different boards. We keep the price as low as posible so it doesn't break the bank and you can get one for all the boards in your quiver. It looks great and performs flawlessly, what more could you ask for? Stop your search and buy this surf rack!
PS - do me a favor and tell your surfing crew to get one too!
Hey! This is Josh from StoreYourBoard.com, here today to talk about the Naked Surf Rack. Here it is by itself and here it is up on the wall. Naked Surf Rack is super simple, super compact. It’s made from 100 percent aluminum. We bend it and then we put this nice layer of felt on it, very dense but very soft to protect your board. It comes in two colors. It comes in very nice matte black. It looks very sleek. That’s actually what’s on the wall here, and then it also comes in an anodized finish which to give you kind of a go-by would be basically that finish on a MacBook, something like that. Really sweet, really luxurious. I like it a lot.
We got two options, just so you can see a little better. There it is. Very simple design but works great. That’s the anodized aluminum and this is the powder-coated version. Here it is behind me, holding a short board. It works great. The board kind of leans up against the wall. Take it down.
All of this is two to three holes in the back here. With this rack included is four screws and four drywall anchors and a set of instructions to help you out, but we typically recommend going to the studs especially if it’s a bigger board. If it’s a short board, drywall anchors are fine.
You want to kind of look at your board and decide kind of where to put it. If you only have a short board I’m going to show you two boards here – if you only have a short board, you probably want it a little bit more in the center to kind of where the board is there and it kind of looks good like that. The studs on a typical house, 16 inches on the center so you want to keep that in mind if you’re going for the studs.
All you do, you take the screws, you mark it. You make them level to each other and then screw it to the wall, and then pop your surfboard up there where it lights up. So I got another one for you, so this is a short board. We got kind of a midrange board here. This is the 7'6″ actually. It’s got some fins in it, so if the fins are in it, we typically tell you to point them out. It just fits better that way.
But you can see, the 7'6″ fits perfectly. I would say, as you get bigger than that, you know 8-foot or bigger, maybe over 20 pounds or more, you want to probably look at our Naked SUP Rack, which is pretty much the same thing, just a little bit longer. It’s made out of some thicker metal with some reinforcing in it, so definitely I recommend that. Just look it up: Naked SUP StoreYourBoard.com. There you go. Not only does this hold surfboards. It holds things like wakeboards, longboards, skateboards, pretty much anything. I’ll pop a wakeboard in here quick, readily like so. It looks awesome. Very, very affordable.
