Product Description

Wheelbarrows are very handy around the house but take up valuable space in your garage  The Wheelbarrow Ceiling Hoist is the perfect way to lift your wheelbarrow off the floor and out of the way! Wheelbarrows are an extremely useful tool around the house but turn into a big, bulky burden when trying to store it in your garage. With the average wheelbarrow measuring 5 ft long and 2 ft wide, that's 10 sq ft of floor space in your garage! Stop tripping over your wheelbarrow or trying to lean it against the wall, grab this hoist and take back your garage space!

Handle your large wheelbarrow with ease This hoist is equipped with a mechanical pulley with a 4:1 mechanical advantage to make a 40lb wheelbarrow only feel like 10bs. The hoist system is rated for loads up to 90 lbs. Plenty for the standard wheelbarrow. The hoist system allows you to secure the adjustable straps while the wheelbarrow is still resting on the floor, then simply feed the straps through the brackets and easily hoist the wheelbarrow to the ceiling. A great option when you do not have an extra set of hands to help, you can hoist your wheelbarrow up to the ceiling all by yourself!

Adjustable straps for multiple uses The included adjustable straps fit cargo boxes of any size. Made from high-strength nylon, these straps can handle heavy loads as well as tension.

This hoist is intended for wheelbarrows, however, you can also easily use for your kayaks, canoes, cargo boxes, and more! Just think of the possibilities!

  • 4:1 mechanical advantage
  • Load Capacity = 60 lbs

First, secure the mounting brackets to your ceiling. Be sure to locate your ceiling joist to ensure the screws have a firm grip.

Be sure to face your squares holes in the same direction. Attach the pulley brackets by lining up the holes and inserting the carriage bolts. Then use the provided lock nuts to secure in place. Be sure not to overtighten as it can cause the brackets to bend inward.

Attach the other pulley by using the same method. Insert one end of the rope through the hole and the pulley bracket. Tie a secure knot towards the end of the rope to anchor it inside the bracket. Feed the other end of the rope to the pulley of the hoist facing inward.

For the Pro version, run the rope through the pulley of the square-loaded bracket. Make sure the center-connecting straps are facing inward. Then feed the rope to the top pulley of the ceiling bracket.

Run the rope over to the other end and feed it through the top of one of the double pulleys located side by side. Then straight down to the corresponding hole, be sure to go underneath the brake tab. Pull a little slack in the rope and then back up through the other hole underneath the brake and over the other pulley. Be sure to line up the rope side by side to prevent any overlap.

Next, take the end of the rope. Feed it down through the second hook. Finally, insert the rope back up through the hole in the pulley bracket and secure with a firm knot. This should allow plenty of slack to raise and lower the system.

For the Pro version, feed the loading straps under your gear, then up through the square loading brackets and tighten with the cam-action buckles. Then grab the loose end of the center strap and feed it through the buckle on the opposite side. Tighten through the buckle and wrap any excess strap back through the square-loading brackets. Lastly, mount the rope tie down cleat to your wall to wrap any excess rope.

Simply pull the rope straight down to release the brake and raise your gear, very similar to how a window shade works. Then position the rope up and off to the side to engage the brake and hold your pulley system in place.

Q:
Can this be used on a sloped ceiling and still be leveled out? We have a very high ceiling that is angled

A:
Each pulley is independent so it can definitely be leveled out. You would just need to check the clearance from the wall and low end of the ceiling so that whatever you have up is not bumping or rubbing against the surface.

Q:
I have 20" clearance from my roof above my garage door, how far down does the hardware hang down above a wheelbarrow?

A:
The hardware and your gear should hang about a foot from your ceiling (to the top of the gear) when it is raised fully.
